If anyone here honestly doesn't believe the CWU constantly puts up barriers to prevent needed changes taking place with pace I think your deluded.
O K my friend I hear this speak everyday, no one is deluded, believe me, the CWU & RM negotiate all aspects of all Agreements on a daily weekly and monthly basis, to state the CWU constantly puts up barriers, is incorrect and this shows to me that YOU are NOT truly engaged in this process, join a strand group or summit and get a voice, or just shut the f**k up :wave :wave

no response to my previous post?

p.s. im not saying deliveries are an easy job any more by a long shot but the real culture shock was it was too easy for too long.

Try and honestly tell me that a few years back many of you weren't back home by 11.00 am, those days are a distant memory. Royal Mail is now run like a business and your expected to actually work the hours you get paid for,
Yes I'll agree with this troll wee did have it easy that was around ten years ago. Now most Postie's work over and beyond the contracted hours on a daily basis most of which they don't get paid for! Or when they do try to get paided for their ot they are bullied and harassed so much they just don't bother to claim anymore and just work for free. So I think I can speak for most people here when I say f**k off troll!

When managers start working all their hours then I will.
You complain about the union putting up barriers but if the management actually did things by the book in the first place you know like the attendance procedure, like using the proper traffic figures and NOT just lapsing for the f ing sake of it then maybe the union would not be as dragging things out,not that the union in my area does as they all seem to piss in the same pot.

Change at pace does not mean changing for the sake of profit or managers getting a bigger bonus which is something that the higher turds up the food chain have been bred to achieve.
Jog on troll.
Royal Mail managers.....about as popular as a t.urd in a swimming pool!
The DDA/Equality Act demands action,NOT words......adjustments NOT Occupational Health referrals.Case No:2505901/09
Royal Mail is an Equal Opportunities Employer..It discriminates against everybody.

The sickening thing is, those of us that have only recently joined the workforce and not enjoyed those free hours are now struggling to get paid fully for what we've worked, possibly because of that attitude.

An example -

The CWU kicking up a fuss because the company wants to try backless tube and bracket frames in mail center over the traditional type.

REALLY?

The postman gets paid to pick up the letter and stick it in a box, does it matter if the box is blue, grey, backless or not.

CWU = Death of RM
Still no response to my post, just random ramblings as I expected.

p.s. ive been with the company over 20 years over several functions and grades and seen a lot come and go. Not as long as some here but long enough.

Please could you tell us what grade or function your are currently doing for RM?

A few things.

Anyone who thinks that "future_RM " is a troll why did you respond to him. If he is troll he will get bored and move on if no one responds to his posts.

If he is genuine then he is entitled to his views, but if he wants to engage other members on an equal basis then he would do so a lot better if he had not used such aggressive terminology in his first postings.

I don't think this poster personally has anything to do with Royal Mail - as his posts certainly intimate a lack of understanding of current agreements and the future direction of Royal Mail.

CWU dragging their heels over backless frames - when, where - its already been nationally agreed and I am not aware of any unit "disagreeing" them. Although I do have some sympathy with the argument that the Union need to speed up their decision making process, and not many would argue that CWU can be seen as slow when members need assistance. However Royal Mail also need to become more modern in their approach to their staff, and both sides need to stop trying to control the flow of information and treat other and their members/workers with a lot more open honesty and respect.

Zero Hour contracts and franchises - well the "legally binding" agreement which says neither of these will happen is not due a review until 2018, and even then as long as the business accept "collective agreements" and "collective bargaining" it will have to get our backing. Franchising and Zero-hour contracts are certainly a possibility, but not in the near future.

Also "real businesses", at least the successful ones recognise that the 3 parts of a Venn diagram are all as important as each other, and consequently profit is of no greater importance than customers and colleagues (and what ever other group you want to add). If you cant get all those groups to meet in the middle of the diagram then you cannot be a truly successful company.

Can Royal Mail ever be a truly successful company - yes as long as they don't promote managers who see strikers as dead wood, and the Unions don't put the survival of their organisation above the interests of the membership. Are we there yet - :left: :left: :left: :left: - can we ever be :thumbup. But it requires a culture change from both sides and the reason why is ably highlighted by this single thread. Very few people in Royal Mail seem capable of seeing the other side of the coin.

and to add. Good luck Burnley - no one strikes and loses money without a strong reason to do so and you have my full support.

Perhaps if managers recognised the strength of feeling and the consequences of their decisions in particular cases, then although their actions may have the same outcome in people being dismissed, at least they would or could learn to communicate with "our people" :Sick and mitigate the damage caused to the business, the office and the staff.

He mentions Mail Centres - not the backless frames in DOs (The CWU kicking up a fuss because the company wants to try backless tube and bracket frames in mail center over the traditional type.)

I would be very surprised if the "legally binding" agreements in AFG last beyond Christmas.
While some areas are working all their paid hours, some are not.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

We have a new rep in our office (A very good one i might add) Now hes making us work harder or at least the ones who don't work there hr's on a regular basis ,plus he's making managers work as managers should ie managing, doing jobs they should do ,etc etc ,he's getting managers to move people who arnt doing there bit into areas that need it so everyone is working
Not everyone likes this of cause mainly the ones being moved but its long term goal is making a fairer office ,which the majority want ,No one is being pushed into working past 39 hr's ,if they are hell back you to the hilt
I've been in Royal mail 14 yrs and it was very easy then but times have changed and everyone needs to step up not just the few
That said if he wasnt on managers cases we would be getting no where and still being harassed and bullied by managers

I had heard that a very senior head of the CWU from London was attending Burnley for an appeal on the rep who was sacked. I don't know if it is true or if the appeal has taken place but judging from the strike action it either failed or it has been called to add weight to the appeal, rightly or wrongly. In my opinion wrongly but there you are.
