Early sequenced/codes trays can be thrown into an empty frame a damn sight easier and quicker than throwing them in after D2D. Under normal circumstances I leave them until all other letters are throw in and before I start backfacing for packet prompts.

For ages we had set logical boxes to do D2Ds for, a colum and a box Mon-Thurs and column Fri/Sat. But now the control sheets vary for different walks, some expect two complete columns to be thrown in and delivered on Tuesdays, when they would typically need ~60mins o/t under the old system!

Double-slots, thick or lots of D2Ds, great fun when half the frame is artificially compacted to look the same size as others.

Then there is the issue of inconsistent procedure, thrown in D2Ds are supposed to be delivered even if they are the only mail for an address, yet managers for now at least are turning a blind eye to OPGs only taking D2Ds where they are going with other letters.

Captain Scarlet wrote:Is something afoot with d2d all over cos we are told, prep 1 column per day before any mail is put into frame...........now we are being told they are looking at d2d after prep is done because :funneh you can prep twice as much mail into a empty frame than if there is d2d in there aswell :hmmmm so I say how much time can you save when you still have to prep d2d later and all the feckin mail is in there too..............still takes the same time dim dim...answers on a postcard to Moya.
Seems it's getting more and more like primary school :chuckle

D2D's are to be thrown in first not mail...
Wrong
So why is our Area Union rep simply telling us different when we had a meeting with him just before Xmas regarding a dispute in the office about workloads he told us to prep D2D's first ? Your obviously correct because there is relevant documentation on this topic for which I didn't know about till I saw TB thread and I assumed what I was hearing was correct of our rep....
who's more the fool, the fool , or the fool that follows the fool ?

Because there are no hard and fast rules on D2D.
Certainly in areas with failing D2D (and nobody wants failing D2D) the easiest way to ensure there is proper control over the process is to have them prepped first.
If that is what is agreed at Area (and above?) level then that becomes the correct procedure.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.
