question for dingo.
DINGO,,i have posted on here without success, can you please give some clarification before our office walks.....have our terms and conditions changed or been withdrawn in the new agenda for growth.?? since the 2010 agreement, it was said all offices have the right to have 1 saturday off in 4. currently, at our office there is a mixture of 9 day fortnites, and some staff work 3 weeks on and have the 4th week off. this is our 1 in 4 saturdays off agreed shift patterns. they have tried to change it back to a 5 day week about 18 months ago. but we all voted against it so it remained in place. now they have come back at us again to have it changed back to 5 days a week again. this time though, our reps are saying theres NOTHING we can do about it. its coming in wether we like it or not. even if we vote against it, they will bring it in anyway. this surely constitutes executive action. unless of course the 1 in 4 saturdays and locally agreed shift patterns HAVE been changed in the new AGF. can you clarify if this is the case? have we been ''stitched'' and have lost our right to 1 in 4 saturdays off. ive looked through the legally binding document, but i cant find it. can you say what is our options on this. will i get a reply from bob gibson/dave ward if you cant clarify. thanks....

Re: question for dingo.
Who knows what the new agenda is and dingo has gone mute since the agreement because HQ hasn't given him anything to say.

Re: question for dingo.
do you think its worth e-mailing wardy or gibson to get the answer, cos what the reps are saying is soul destroying...its the only decent thing to come out of that 2010 crap. now they want that as well. even worse, they are saying the delivery spans WONT change. they'll still be 4hrs.45mins. they reckon they are going to vastly reduce the indoor work. whats more,,if the vote (which WILL be a resounding ''no'') is going to be ignored,, then it becomes a moot point having one. they have taken away our democratic rights.dvbuk55 wrote:Who knows what the new agenda is and dingo has gone mute since the agreement because HQ hasn't given him anything to say.

Re: question for dingo.
We have 5 week on 1 week off and our office, and the push for the new business plan is to try and bring in some hybids i.e. delivery only and then what was a SA collection or UTR.
I've heard for the last year that RM really don't like 9 day patterns because they are to cover - tough s**t really, if that's what your office picked, then I'm not sure how they justify the change. Why can't your rep or area rep give you a straight answer?

Re: question for dingo.
Well when you think about it there's a 3 year pay deal and an ongoing terms and conditions deal with a no strike clause to boot - so what have they got to do. Pretty much subs for old rope for the foreseeable future. In the background though there'll be moves afoot to control your vote on the sharesworktotime wrote:to right its gone very quiet on the cwu front since the yes vote , must have gone back in the trenches , no news on the great agreement.Lincox wrote:Just read the Courier. Re: question for dingo.
Agreements aren't set in stone, nor do they exist in isolation.
If you agreed a 9 day fortnight (or whatever) with a 4hr 45 delivery span, then the moment you no longer have sufficient work to sustain a 4hr 45 delivery span or you no longer have the indoor work envisaged, then something has to give.
These things may easily occur if TNT appear on your streets or if Amazon/Yodel take away a lot of your packets.
I have no idea what the scenario is in your office but it would appear you have 2 options:
1. Lose the current attendance pattern and remain on 4hr 45 delivery spans or
2. Stay on the current pattern but lose jobs and lapse duties on top of the current delivery span.
Extending what is already a very long delivery span may be unpalatable (and unsustainable) to everyone so the only other option ............

The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Re: question for dingo.
Althou I partly agree with your sentiment Agreements are "set in stone" for a certain duration or what's the point of having them, up to and including duty options and terms &conditions, the new AFG agreement has yet to rear it's head in its full form, until it has been agreed in ALL the strand groups and other groups we will never understand the new "can do culture" resource to workload etc, etc, until then BT2010 holds the field end ofclashcityrocker wrote:Agreements aren't set in stone, nor do they exist in isolation.

Resource to workload and work all your paid hours are also part of Pay and Mod 2007.

agreed, but we have come a long way since then, Crozier,Leighton have created a culture in many many offices in and around the country that seem to NOT want to change even thou all around must...this new AFG will in my opinion divide offices all around the country...time will tellclashcityrocker wrote:Resource to workload and work all your paid hours are also part of Pay and Mod 2007.![]()

Bloody hell. You must have about 80 full time staff and a daily traffic of about 25 000.daveyeff wrote: the thing is though clash, we already lapse on top of a 4hr 45 delivery span. on mondays tuesday and saturdays.
