Holiday Pay?

I'm a bit of a newb at all this holiday form stuff. I usually either had it paid to me automatically or my shift manager would deal with it.
I emailed angard (angard.holiday@reedglobal.com) to find out how many hours I had accrued but all I got was an automatic email response telling me exactly what it says on their website. Does anyone have an alternate email address?

29.09 hours of holiday pay accrued having worked a total of 256 hours over 29 nights - 6 of which were 12 hour shifts.

Probably a bit of creative book keeping going on there to minimize costs, but hey ho

If I remember correctly, from the contract, Angard only count a maximum of 8 hours per day - anything above that is not incorporated into the holiday accrual.

An example £10.00 per hour – 20 hrs - £200.00 p/w = £10,400 p.a
£200.00 x 12.07% = £24.14 (holiday pay)
divided by 10 = 2.4 hours accrued

The calculation for a year you have to deduct 5.6 weeks (28 days)
- your statutory entitlement.
46.4 x 12.07% = 5.6

46.4 weeks x £200.00 = £9280.00
46.4 weeks x £24.14 = £1,120.09
£9,280.00
x 12.07%
= £1,120.09 holiday pay
divided by hourly rate £10.00 = 112 accrued hours

5.6 (28 days) x 20 hours = 112 hours.

Or Total hours p.a. (minus 112) = 928 x 12.07% = 112 hours accrued


This example does not include any adjustments regarding shift allowance & if AWR qualified, meal breaks & extra holiday entitlement which affects the calculation.

This is the part that worries me - they are always right because computer says so - computers are only as good as the people that design, develop and test them and can and do have flaws/bugs in them.

When they stopped giving us our holiday accrual and pay rates on our payslip my holiday pay rate was 10.01: 3 weeks later when I asked what my current accrual was my holiday pay rate had reduced. Bearing in mind my actual pay rate has been higher than 10.01 during those 3 weeks my pay rate should never have reduced - indeed it should have increased. They cannot give me an explanation for the reduction - all they do is insist they are correct. I have put my issues to them about my pay rate going down and told them I believe this highlights a flaw within the pay system for holiday accrual. I asked for a breakdown of my holiday accrual since they removed it from the payslip and for the software to be investigated for the possible flaw. What happens - I get completely ignored by Angard.

My experience was similar, with payroll initially making errors with my pay & paying me a week early made the holiday calculation wrong because the gross was incorrect. The last 3 months i have sent numerous emails trying to resolve pay issues. Delay after the automated response to any query, then you get a reply that does not answer your problem & after i passed on my concerns to CWU regarding payroll failings, you get another person "dealing" with the matter making promises of a resolution only to say that payroll team have checked the calculation & say their are no anomalies. !!. The computer is king.

One of many responses;
"The calculation of 12.07% is, as you have correctly stated, based on the
statutory minimum. As this calculation is built into our software for all
workers across Angard we are unable to change this when you qualify for
AWR. Because of this, your AWR rate is worked out slightly higher than
permanent workers at Royal Mail, to pay you in lieu for the extra holiday
pay that you are now owed."

has anyone requested holiday recently and not got an automated reply? last time i emailed i got it straight away however today i when i emailed i got nothing back so just hoping they still process it.

Does anyone know if angard will payout unclaimed holiday hours. Last year they did at this time, so I didn't bother claiming it.

Someone suggesting that angard can keep your holiday entitlement if you dont claim it, which seems unlikely otherwise there would be a massive uproar.

Think you may have lost it all holiday had to be claimed and paid by last Friday the 28th after that it reverts to zero. You may be lucky and they pay you this Friday but I doubt it.

Yes I sent a holiday request as well. They even said that It could be backdated upto two weeks on days you didn't work.

So if anyone else has any holiday hours left make sure to claim it today by 12pm.

Holiday pay is just plain confusing my pay rate is between £12.50 and £13.20 per hour but my holiday pay is £8.12 per hour was just over £9 last year I do not get how it's worked out and why it is so low compared to what I earn.
