Re: Saturdays
I could see Royal Mail going for Tuesday - Friday delivery to save money in very long term and make us work 9 hours 45 minutes a day. (with hour lunch break)

They cant because of the USO requires a 6 day per week service.
Rows of houses all bearing down on me........I can feel their blue hands touching me.......All these things in all positions.........All these things will one day take control..........

Re: Saturdays
I think with the increase in self employed with working tax credits, part time work, zero Hour contracts and workfare type work the hours a day are likely to come down, look at the likes of Tesco, Amazon, TNT, and many other big firms, after this next few years of safety <-(hopefully) passes.Darren Bent wrote:I could see Royal Mail going for Tuesday - Friday delivery to save money in very long term and make us work 9 hours 45 minutes a day. Perhaps a few full timers working long hours but slowly replaced by the above.

Re: Saturdays
And your problem is? How can any delivery be 2.5 hrs?joeyuk wrote:This could be the last Saturday to finish early in our office. Tomorrow i'm in at 7, out the door by 8.30/9 and done 2.5 hours later so about 11.30 finish. As of next week i'm on 30 hour contract due to revision starting at 8.30, the official finish time is 14.30 i think. Might be able to be done by 13.30 but more likely 14:00/14:30
My case is rested. Shoot yourselves in the foot

Re: Saturdays
well if he,s in deliveries obviously he does know better.... they keep saying to us that they are dropping but we are on the frames prepping in from 6.10 till 8.40 EVERY DAY. (longer sometimes) If the mails dropping then why are we spending the same amount of time prepping every day. surley it would be getting less.OnAFlyer wrote:Obviously you know better.bringon4dayweeks wrote:OnAFlyer wrote:Budfrog wrote:SpacePhoenix wrote: There wouldn't be any hours to split over the M-F, as SpacePhoenix stated walks would need to be made smaller.

Re: Saturdays
exactly. i pointed this out on here. we are now doin MORE indoor work that we did BEFORE the mail was walksorted. the ones who dont work in D.O.s havent got a clue. unlimited D2Ds agreed by the union because there ''wouldnt be enough indoor work'' to justify the jobs....HA.!!
