Got my copy of the interview minutes, the minutes had been doctored to be
in favour of the manager with most of what I had said missed out. Including the manager admitting she had bundled and prepared the bags. Thought it was supposed to be fact finding appears more like a witch hunt with me being the target. Spoke with the union rep, advised not to sign anything. Apparently another meeting to decide my fate when the manager as the time! My husband is already talking about taking legal advice. I will keep everyone up to date with proceedings.

Fact finding is normally a joke. But it is also your best defence in subsequent appeal or ET. If you think you are totally innocent I would also appeal anything harsh not just a dismissal.

Your fate cannot be with the same manager as they won't have the "powers" to sack you. It'll be the DOM or DSM. You could be in good hands though. Our DOM knows all about wilful delay, he did it all the time as a postie.
Your best out of it, but I understand that doesn't pay the bills. I also realise how frustrating it all is and how angry you feel.

she has over done herself. she is making sure you are sacked? so she has presumed the outcome of any investigation before it has happened. this is a serious breach protocol. I would take grievance out re her saying this in the first place.

Update . Had a letter today from the dom of our main office. It said I had been accused of gross misconduct and that I had to attended a formal hearing next Monday at 10am. Taking rep with me. I did not wilfully delay any mail and I am innocent, I have 7 years employment with rm and not a blemish on my record yet I get the gut feeling there is a management cover up and I am the scapegoat.

You'll be going to appeal. Expect no justice from the dom. Heartless f***ers. They are saving their own jobs by getting rid of ours.

Hi Mildred, Just a couple of points that my help you....
1) Who signed your specials and tracked out of your secure area that day? If it was the said manager or anybody else then they must have signed for them. This would indicate that you didn't bundle the round up.
2) Do you have attendance sheets in your office? If so this could show that from the time you started to the time you left the office would not have given you time to bundle the round and that somebody else had done it.

Been dismissed, apparently the line managers integrity is beyond doubt but ( and this is word for word) in my opinion your integrity is beyond question not trustworthy. The relationship between yourself and royal mail is beyond repair, you are therefore dismissed for gross misconduct (area manager). 8 yrs service not one single blemish on my record, accused of something I didn't do, no evidence to even try and implicate me of wilful delay just the line managers word against mine. Will appeal but I get the feeling I will lose, something sinister appears to be happening at royal mail

Good luck however it turns out. They tried something similar with me but I got my own lawyer to advise and cannot say wether the 'game would've been worth the candle' had they not caved on technicalities but know this: you're not alone and its not a reflection upon you. Its a damning indictment of them. Dont trust the union for legal advice, the union backed them up as they made error after error in my case and falsified and bullshitted. In the end its up to you wether its worth it emotionally or financially or better to just let go.

Its going to be draining. You'll cry, you'll wonder why. But know this, in six months time I bet you are in a better place with a better job.
Appeal. You simply must as this process will not have a cost attached to it.
I know you have lost faith in the union but email bgibson@cwu.org and tell the office what you know.

Got my union rep to put an appeal in straight away. Not sure how long it takes before I here anything, to be honest I only want to clear my name now. If I won my appeal I don't think I could work with the same manager, don't trust the b####### anymore. Will let people know the outcome and thanks for all the support.
