Take your break

Post by takeyourbreak »

How many guys/gals on here dont take their breaks? I think its complete and utter nonsense that folk dont take a break. We have guys in our office who just sit and stare at their frames once they have thrown their walks in!! We have a good canteen with pool table, tv etc.... but these people insist on doing nothing. My idea of a break is once I have everything boxed in go in to the canteen have a crack with the boys a bite to eat, it really freshens you up before you go out they long deliverys.

cheers lads...

I don't take my break. I eat my breakfast on my frame and have a cup of coffee.
I know I really shouldn't be doing it, but after doing it this way for so long it's habbit now.
I just want to go in (I'm never in early) sort the IPS, sort my frame, bag up and get out so I can get home as soon as possible.

I see where you are coming from venger. But this seems old school sitting at frames have a bite to eat etc. As it is the more senior posties that are sitting at their frame in our office.....lets hope you can break the habit and chill out away from your work space it honestly helps you before you start. As I have said it freshens you up...

I take my break at the end of my duty.I would rather have 40 mins in my chair at home than sit in my office, eating my butty & just waiting to go out on delivery.

See thats all wrong max. This is old school attitude. It is law that you must take at least 20 minutes break before you go out on delivery. Its is the managers job to tell you that you must take 20 minutes. If not they are doing their job wrong and you should be counciled on not taking one. Our old office dispatch isint till 9am anyway. So what else is there to do other than have a break!?!?!

people must get this "get in, rush about, no break, get finished and home" attitude out their heads this is the biggest problem. Playing into gaffers hands im afraid.....they love it

cheers....

I'd have my break in the canteen but it's 4 floors up and by the time I've walked up all them steps I'm too knackered to do my walk :p
We do have a coffee room though near my frame which I sometime use once I'm bagged up. I don't have a full 30 minutes though as I go out with a driver and he doesn't have a break so I leave when he's ready.

those days have gone, soon im sure youll have to sign out and sign back in from youre delivery. They see you finishing early theyll just give you another street to do or some extra sorting. Youre cutting your own throat.

The problem is with a bairn to pick up it`s a lot less stressfull to take your break at the end & it just gives you more time to manoevere.I do take the point of the canteen jobs mind, although I am not able to afford to eat there.

Its not just the drivers problem(no doubt an old school postie) its the managers problem let them deal with it....and while they are at it tell them to give the driver a telling off for not taking his break. Its is the managers job to make sure we take one.
