Waiting list question - can i apply for multiple roles?

Hi, i am new to this site and royal mail and cannot find much info on how the waiting list works. I went for an interview last week and received an email saying i passed the interview etc but was not the highest scoring candidate and therefore am now on a waiting list. I understand i can email if im interested in a job and they will consider me, however can i apply for more than one role via this method? The email is unclear as it says 'Once you apply for the role as outlined above, your name will be removed from the waiting list whilst the required checks are carried out and you will not be able to apply for any alternative role which may subsequently be advertised during this period.'

Does this mean that i can only apply once in 3 months and will be taken off the waiting list, or does it mean i will be taken off only if im successful and they have to perform security checks?

Also i am willing to travel to work for RM, will i be considered for jobs 30+ miles away?
