Been forced into a corner got give up my job lack of help

Feel pretty sick of lack of help and support from Royal Mail & union , 8 weeks ago I was made homeless I had no we're to go so had move back to family, which is miles away from the mail centre I work, I contacted my shift manager he agrreed that be very hard for me to attend due to distance. So he said a transfer to a closer mail centre, after 2 weeks I was still in contact and believing a transfer was taking place , when I phoned the book room to find out what was going on found out that they have not been in contact at all to the nearest mail centre, so my shift manager was not telling the truth during the 2 weeks he was saying yeah they want you and things getting sorted etc,,, I was told by book room manage rive got to return to work I explained the distance and cost and I could not afford to do that as am only part time and I would not afford my bills and to live , my shift manger phone me said book a hotel or b&b this stressed me out so I been of sick not knowing what to do union said I got to return ,, now I been of sick I want get transfer I feel let down by Royal Mail, book room manger said from out first telephone call I got prove I can turn up for work that was only 2,weeks off why have I got prove my self have I not done that in past 5 years
With Royal Mail up and down the country you think I could be put some were near to me book room manger thinks I moved out my own will ,, belive me I had no choice in the matter now I have to give up my job due to lack of help and support

How about simply going to your nearest delivery office, mid morning and talking to 1 of the managers their about any vacancies even temporary.
Many Delivery offices have high sickness levels, so whilst not able to give you a permanent job probably be able to stay their as a temp for a long time, failing that try the area Union guys on deliveries they must know of offices nearby in need of Temp staff.

You may not get anything permanent for sometime but could lead to it .
You are going to need to explain yourself and sell yourself to the Delivery offices Managers and Union Reps .Once you are in the door you are going to have to prove yourself .
Before you go to a delivery office make sure you know what you are letting yourself in for, as if you don't like it or not up to it going to make your situation worse.

Plenty of threads on here for advice on new starters in delivery, so read them first .delivery offices are nothing like mail centres.

Not ideal,but couldn't you apply for a "career break" until you can sort things out?You wouldn't get paid while on it,but your job should be held open until you come back?
Also,i dont know if you could claim any benefits as you have stopped working by choice(or sorts),either way good luck!

Really sorry to hear about this poor guys situation, trust me I've been there.
Keep your head up buddy, don't let Royal Mail bully you out your job.
