Employee survey 2014: why it matters

Our aim is to become the best delivery and marketing mail company in the UK. And to do this, we need to ensure we make the most of our biggest asset – you.
By understanding your experiences of working for Royal Mail, we can put in place plans and structures to improve your working environment and create a better customer experience – something we need to do to stay at the top of our game.
Have your say
Many of the comments you have made in previous surveys have already resulted in improvements to the company. For example, we are investing £70 million in improving some callers’ offices over the next three years, creating a better customer experience and improving the working environment.
We’re improving access to career opportunities and learning and development throughout the company.
We’ve also committed to keeping you informed about the major issues within the company, such as our strategy and the activities of our competitors.
So make your voice heard and help shape the future of Royal Mail. The employee survey 2014 runs from 19 March to 9 April.

If filling in these forms changed anything then they'd do away with them.

They should matter and they could matter if they actually responded to the issues we raise.

Re: Employee survey 2014: why it matters
Lets be fair (not that RM is or their managers are).
It doesn't matter. In my unit, the results are entirely ignored. There has still been no action taken as a result of last years negative responses.
Plus, add to that the fact that the questions are asked in a way to prevent any true negative responses.
And that any comments are only accepted/looked into IF at least 10 people write the same thing.
It's not user friendly, and is ineffective.
But then, I think that's the general idea.

I'll just be brutally honest.
At least I'll have the satisfaction of being able say what I actually think rather than having to bite my tongue.
I know that it'll be ignored but nothing new there.

Same questions every year tells me that they are STILL NOT LISTENING. Like the one about fair workload. They're having a laugh... as usual.

A lot of us do.scoobydo79 wrote:Its a chance to say what You think Why not take it?
It just never makes any difference.
Unless we tell them what they want to hear, all results are ignored.

Re: Employee survey 2014: why it matters
Same again at POMC - we were given our surveys today and TOLD to hand them back to our line manager when we had done them. As in previuos years this order will have come from the Mail Cenre Manager, even though we have a pre-paid envelope. Don't trust this one bit
I will complete mine, but post it outside the Pompey area so that it doesn't go through POMC. What's with this f***ing code on it as well
?
How much worse can it get? A LOT F****** WORSE !!!

Re: Employee survey 2014: why it matters
Nothing ever changes as a result of our comments. The survey's only purpose is to fool us into thinking that Royal Mail gives a damn about our opinions.
