He was an inspiration for many and will continue to be so. A truly great leader taken before his time - truly, a sad loss. Deepest sympathies to family and friends at this sad news.

So sad so very very sad, a true working class hero if there ever was one. Met him a few times and............well ..............he was just a great bloke!
Every once in a while we get the chance to see a truly inspirational person who people admire and follow. It is only when that person departs this world that we truly truly start to listen to what they said and regret not taking their advice. Bob fought hard to make the working mans life a better one. Lets not forget its up to us to continue that struggle and make our lives better. RIP Bob we will have to wait a long time to see the likes of you again.

A real shock and very sad. I thought the tribute on the Covent Garden Tube Station by the workers there sums him up:
"Fear of death follows fear of life. A man who lives life fully is prepared to die at any time". Mark Twain.

Heard a lot over the last 24 hours about Bob Crow being paid ridiculous amounts of money, living the good life and holding on to a council house when he could afford to buy one ... well he bought a plot yesterday at 52 years of age - killed by a heart attack, no doubt caused by the effort and stress caused by fighting all his working life for his work colleagues and union members. He paid a price for his beliefs that many of the moaners would not contemplate - class innings Bob and thankyou.

If ever a person was worth what they were paid, it was Bob.

No doubt he didn't buy a house because he stuck to the principals of his communist/socialist beliefs that 'all property is theft'.

How many politicians/union leaders can be said to do that?

Truly sad day for the working class. RIP.

i have delivered mail to Bob Crow's house. I had no idea it was THAT BoB Crow, till the regular guy who does the walk confirmed. He is someone who did not sell out in anyway despite his much publicised salary. He lives in a large estate most would prefer not to be. If i had saw him there are loads of stuff i would want to raise with him
I had become dissillusioned with unions based on my experiences in both public and private sectors. I seen enough incompetence, corruption (reps and officials sharing all the easy overtime and plum jobs among mates or the office 'in crowd'. And bullying by management who all were ex union officials. It was after seeing what he did for his union, and appearaces on question time, made me want to join the CWU

So tragic to lose someone so young like this. A great loss to the Socialist and Trade Union movement.
My condolences to his family, friends and colleagues.
RIP Bob.

Yes, hard to believe the "1961-2014" for someone that's aged early, worked too hard, and gone  Younger than me, I was at infant school in 1961.
A great loss, so few about with such principles and commitment now.
