Your manager is a tosser. He is payed to address problems like these rather than shoving it back at you. You've had good advice above. Get the union involved. You shouldn't have to put up with any threatening behaviour, no matter how empty it may actually be. This guy needs sorting, preferably by the police. If I were you I would inform the police yourself, if your manager won't.

Agree with all the above. Don't take any chances just because his been ok before. Inform the Union and I would still make a complaint to the police, get it on record now in case things go further.
If he approaches you again and is threatening back off and return to the office and report it. Refuse to go back on that round. You are within your rights.
Your manager is a knob for ignoring it.

Ask to get the Crime reference number if you do report it.
Write down what happened. Very simple, date time and place. Its amazing how you forget small details in a short span of time.

Good advice.
Report it from the office and arrange them to interview at the office with your manager present.

I would suggest put ALL your concerns in righting along with what has happened and what you would like done such as DOM going out and seeing him, make sure you date it and then take the letter to the lazy ass DOM and ask him to sign and print his name .I think you might now find he will do something.

agree with everything groundpounder says. Just put it in writing, date it, hand a copy to your dom , copy to your rep. It doesn't have to be war and peace, keep it short , state the facts. Your dom will then HAVE to act.

Re: Threatened by a customer
I once put the Police on a customer for acting in a threatening manner to me, on my own initiative, the customer was put back in his box and never heard a peep from him since.

Trouble is these aggressive tossers make a habit of threatening people in the street and get away with it. The only difference is WE KNOW where they live, idiots

Re: Threatened by a customer
I was threatened indirectly (threat was made to a postie on a neighboring walk by 3 scrotes),
i informed manager who contacted police, the police did patrols when i was on duty around the area involved for a week or 2,
nothing happened...but you need to involve the cops deffo,
it needs to be nipped in the bud, if not for your sake, for the sake of the next postie who goes on that walk.
another instance i encountered, was when i had a man quite a few years older than me verbally abusing me and jabbing his finger in my face (no contact),
he was putting on quite the show for the rush hour traffic
i didn't need the police...i told him to take his finger out of my face or i'd bite the c**t off.
very silly perhaps, but it did the job.
