A PDA that worked as it should with the bonus of a walkie talkie facility (useful to keep in contact with P & L buddy) and decent street mapping sat nav or a data base for the walk you are on so you could find the odd house that is tucked away and only found by the few people in the know. Enforcement of the rumored law about a minimum letter box size and compulsory display of a property number. Oh and not to forget the long awaited back to the future hoverboard of course :Very Happy

Would be great! I can not understand how some people put up with the tiny letterboxes, and lack of number

Go back to early starts/early finishes, do away with Saturday deliveries altogether, and have a straightforward Mon-Fri working week, and make the maximum delivery span no longer than 3.5 hrs.

Now this is radical but I would reduce the working week to 35 hours - perhaps even 30 hours over time, with paid breaks for full timers, but limit the delivery span to 3 hours - 3.5 max. I wouldn't expect take home pay to remain the same but I would hope that the hourly rate would remain. This would reduce wear and tear on posties
Absolutely agree with this, I've done 5 hours delivery today on p&l, absolutely knackered, legs and feet throbbing, I'm pushing 50, think I'd accept the lower wage as obviously less hours with a view to perhaps making a bit extra doing parcel overtime if required.

Make it easier for customers to opt out of D2D marketing.

Mon-Fri delivery only. with sat as optional overtime for parcels/collections, but somehow with no compulsary redundancies.

Being able to back your bundles, and, as someone has mentioned, the knee length crombie, it was like an ian mculloch convention going out on delivery

Saturday deliveries is the only thing keeping most floaters in a job
If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next

None of us, not you, not me, not the floaters, have anything like the job security most people enjoyed 15 years ago, and that's with Saturday, or no Saturday working.

Good shout Frankieboy. Also, how about a grocery delivery service, maybe cleaning window's and doing a bit of gardening for those customer's that request it :Very Happy .
