PAY RATES DROPPING

Post by steunited20 »

I haven't had any shifts for the past couple of weeks at the Royal mail site i work at in warrington.Does anybody know how long you can go without work before your pay drops back down to minimum wage.I can't remember if its 4 or 6 weeks ? Also i think you can avoid this by booking holiday hours in the weeks you don't work ?
I work for angard, thanks for any help.

This can be a slight problem in more than just dropping pay rates.

If you have not been in contact with Angard for 4 weeks they can and in some cases do lapse your security - they may even send your P45. Once, they lapse clearance they then have to re-apply for your security checks/clearance. This lapse will then prevent you being called into work during the time it takes to get it back. So first steps is to make sure you keep in contact with them (call the person who calls you in).

The gap you are allowed is 6 weeks but you can book holiday to extend that. The weeks you can extend by is limited (I think it is 2 weeks but nobody will confirm this). Once you get to 6 weeks gap pay roll may automatically knock you back to minimum wage and you may need to fight to get re-instated to AWR if you have taken some holiday - the pay system cannot (or could not for the last 2 years) cater for 6 week gap plus holiday.
