Crash involving Royal Mail van causes congestion in Grimsby

A COLLISION between two vehicles in Grimsby town centre caused congestion for shoppers and visitors to the town.

The crash happened near to Deansgate Bridge, between a red Mini Cooper and a Royal Mail van at around 10,30am today.

Both the drivers were treated at the scene for minor injuries by paramedics from East Midlands Ambulance Service.

Traffic was diverted for a short while and one lane of Deansgate Bridge was closed temporarily.

An East Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said the injuries suffered were very minor.
