not propaganda it is fact the UK debt is owned by the UK treasury and they have guaranteed the debt backed by the bank of England ... no currency union no debt

the oil is not a UK asset the oil is in Scotland's maritime waters

They guaranteed the debt to ease market fears, not let Scotland off, Currency isn't an asset you know, we vote to become a foreign country but tell the remaining population of the UK, 55 million people, that they have no choice but to enter an unwanted currency union cause the SNP demand it.

Voting NO will guarantee all the things the SNP desire, Pound, EU membership, NATO membership, Armed forces and use of UK foreign embassies, i could go on :cuppa

Except an independent Scotland couldn't be seen to be reneging on debts owing. It would drastically affect the country's "credit rating" and ability to borrow internationally in future, especially from the very organisation (the Bank of England) most likely to be asked to lend or guarantee future loans.

we won't be reneging on debt as it is owned by the UK Treasury they even said as much it is in black and white it's all because the arse has fallen out the No camp's campaign

and the UK would be in even hotter water by trying to block the democratic will of the people of Scotland .... say goodbye to the G8, Permanent membership of the UN (no Veto rights)

Have you been taking lessons from Salmond in the art of "making it up as you go along"?
It would appear so. The UK aren't blocking anything or in danger of losing any G8 or UN membership.

Exactly. Scottish independence was never a logical or practical proposition and its proponents are delusional and in denial about its consequences. That does not however mean it cannot happen ( separation already is and has its own momentum) . If it does then there are problems without solutions and a long list of issues to fight with the rest of the uk about. The currency proclamation is no bluff and it may galvanise support for separation although it may also show an example of the uncomfortable reality of separation.

I suspect amongst all this debate and bitter recriminations between the two sides, we are sleep walking toward a separation without realising it. which would suit Alex Salmond.

As an interested bystander I think the pro-Union side of the debate seem to be doing everything possible to ensure that separation occurs, in some cases it even holds true on here.

If you did not want the Union to survive you would belittle the opposite side, you would use fear of the consequences, you would try to muddy the waters over various matters, and in the end you would use silly childish names for your opponents. That all seems to be happening so I wouldn't be surprised if the outcome of the vote will depend a lot on unaligned voters, or less active aligned ones. In that case I think it will help get more Yes voters out than No ones as they will want to make a point.

Mind you the last 30 years of UK Politics has been based on fear so no change there.

Barrosso and Carney have no axes to grind and have both outlined very real difficulties facing Scotland post-independence. That's not using "fear" but pointing out potential problems, and to imply that that could make the "unaligned voters" vote Yes casts a slur on Scottish intelligence.
The Scots would be right to disbelieve most, if not all of Cameron's utterances, but from impartial sources? They're not that daft..

Both Barroso and Carney may be important voices in the debate but neither are exactly impartial.

Scottish independence: Sir David Edward says Jose Manuel Barroso 'wrong' on EU
A senior legal expert has challenged the opinion of the European Commission president over the status of an independent Scotland in the EU.

Jose Manuel Barroso said last week any new state would be outside EU treaties and would have to reapply to join.

But Professor Sir David Edward, a former European Court judge, believes that Scotland and the rest of the UK would be in a comparable position.

There would be no need for a new accession treaty, he argued.

Instead, negotiations prior to independence would result in amended EU treaties.
