Is their a limit on delivery span?

I'm not sure. The reason I ask is because some of our deliveries are about 5 1/2 hours long. Is their a set limit for town delivery and rural delivery?

Nope, if you have a van then you can be out for the full duty hours............it's a 'can do' attitude.

you cant make the delivery span longer than you're working day, ie. if you work 8 hrs a day, then take off you're 40 min meal allowance.leaving 7hrs 20mins left. so yes there is a limit to how long a delivery span can be.

Actually they do exist and were all redone as part if your offices revision, the revision couldn't not be signed if they were not done, they do exist just maybe manager has not put them in walk log, get the rep to ask for them if you don't have then

They'll be more people going on the sick the longer you are out on foot all day , due to more stresses on limbs etc .

Every duty has a delivery span which should go into duty builder and which will give you the time needed to prep the walk and how much time your on ips. Recent revisions will most likely have a smaller span mon,tues,sat and a longer one weds,thurs,fri. This won't change hugely but will change slightly based on traffic volumes for those days. For example a 4 hour 30 span on a mon,tues,sat would probably be nearer 4 hours 50 on a weds, thurs, fri.

I think I put in 'you can be out for the full duty hours' which fully answered the question, the delivery span is your full hours, you can be out for all your hours if RM decide so but they can't take your break time from you.

Surely, you should not be out longer than what the planner timed the duty at, using georoute etc. So if the duty was planned at 4 hours 30 mins during your revision, then why should you be out 5 hours, because it suits RM?

The duty will have been planned using a model traffic figure, call rate and packet sampling.
If any of those are above what was planned the duty will be longer, that doesn't make the planner a liar.
