The East region has lost a lot of MCs I think they have a target of 5-7 each region in the long term. I can't see them cutting down anymore just because of the logistics of getting it in and out would end up being a nightmare. Maybe Postcode reshuffles might be on the cards

The one thing they will have to do especially with Amazon is actually do their job and deliver the goods. Amazon have a long term to cut out RM if they don't. The senior managers don't obviously give a s**t

Think soon there will only be Mail Centres at PE, NR & CM covering the whole of East Anglia.

Speaking to a colleague, PE has apparently just started doing CB's DSA mail, mixing it in with their own DSA stuff which is causing the staff fun trying to run it down half an 160 selection iLSM!!!

A certain look in the eye and an easy smile.

You'll get the chance to put the knife in.

True, but I put that as doing London Mail as it does all of the E postcodes as well as RM/IG...

re the above I think Cardiff, Dorset, Swindon and I know Southampton is earmarked for the PO work but there rumours saying that SO moving somewhere else in the near future, Bristol are relatively safe I can see one maybe a 2nd (maybe a IVO) out the three Somerset/Cornish and Devon deltas but after the floods all 3 might stay open also depends whether Bristol can handle Gloucester. As with everything until they send in a review team it is all idle speculation. But I bet some rethinking may be thought after the latest round of bad weather

Any word/rumour regarding Scotland - especially Edinburgh Mail Centre

I would think Edinburgh,Glasgow and Aberdeen would be ok long term - but who knows in todays climate.

Swindon is def a safe MC as it is relatively new and has SN/OX & RG. Could also take GL if Bristol have to take on other work even thru they are at mo earmarked for the GL inward. The problem is until the Mail Centre Review is completed in 2016 things could change.

Re Scotland all depends on the referendum and a lot of Scotland is like DMC in places. So it'll be a wait and see

Geography has determined a lot up till now, lets face it Aberdeen could shut easy if it was just that little bit further south. As for the the two larger MC in the central belt, they could I suppose open up a super MC somewhere central but again Its logistics and all your eggs in one basket. Depending on parcel technology etc, decisions will be on hold till then. Don`t think both MC have enough room for a parcel machine so it maybe one will concentrate packets and the other flats/letters ??
