I hear what you are saying, yes they are a smug lot, but I too live in Scotland, I have more in common with a fellow postie in Cornwell than the scum in both sets of parliament. I want my freedom, they got rid of the Tzar and got Stalin, Blair came after Thatcher. This independence vote is a con, we live on one small island which is on a very small planet, which ever which way we vote the bankers and all the rest will still be calling the shots. Voting no would be giving the condems my support, no way. Voting Yes will not give me my freedom. Is Apathy the new revolution, with drawing your support from them all. At the end of the day it will be a minority group which will win.

Yes! I just wonder if anyone has ever bothered to quantify exactly what apathy costs in the great scheme of things, wasted ballot papers, tv adverts, hot air selling a bum steer to an apathetic audience

There was talk if the Yes clan got the Chieftainship then the Scottish Postal Service SPS would be return back to the people. Googled "the promised land" under maps and its in Cardiff.

The odds have shortened lately and the polls are creeping closer.
I think it might be a lot closer in the end than people originally thought but I still think the status quo will just about sneak it.

From a selfish perspective i hope the union remains as independence would lead to a conservative hegemony,which frankly would be soul destroying.

It will be a no vote,in our office of over 100 people we had a mock vote of which 78 were no.
There is not enough information about currency,Europe,pensions and even where the money to renationalise Royal Mail would come from the snp are in dream land and will wake up shortly.

I think we all know that polls just tell what the pollsters want then to say..........a poll on RMC showed a no vote when it turned out the opposite

The RMC poll is a poll of people who care about the way Royal Mail is being operated and not a picture of the general apathy there is within the workforce. A 57% turnout for a trade Union Movement shows that a large proportion of the membership sit back and just accept the benefits (generally pay increases) that are negotiated and would not be prepared to take the ultimate sanction even if it was a majority decision. It appears that the CWU is being fcked by not only the heirarchy but also many within the membership.

It's a chicken/egg, egg/chicken, chicken or egg scenario.
Is poor organisation and engagement creating apathetic members or is an apathetic membership driving poor choices by the leadership or are the two things separate with the apathy being caused by general socio-economic conditions and the poor leadership decisions just a result of poor leadership.

The only thing you can be sure of is that a) It will end badly and b) everybody will blame everybody else.

There is a significant growing minority who are disengaged from the democratic process,headquarters would be well advised to pour some energy into rectifying this,perhaps with the same zeal as they are, regarding the proportionality agenda.
