The majority of full time CWU-grade employees will receive backdated pay of at least £500, before deductions

There will be major variations. Many employees will receive less or more than this figure.

The figure will be different for those who have, for example, carried out overtime or scheduled attendance, bought additional holiday or joined or left the company since April 2013.

Other factors may also impact the amount you receive. Deductions will include but are not limited to income tax, national insurance and pension contributions.

I suspect it is a mistake, and meant to say OPG.
Could be wrong.

I cant say what it means without stating the obvious. It doesn't mean they have to be in the CWU, but that their grade if they are in a Union is represented by the CWU.

As opposed to AMICUS/Unite/CMA grades.

It's like the cycle to work scheme in reverse - I will now have enough for a new bike or maybe some other luxury - I think they should hold back the increase every year and pay it in a lump sum after Christmas - it's the only way I get to save up
