Can anybody explain this new pension agreement pease. Almost all pension providers are now saying you have to pay in more and work longer. Why is this pension plan any different??

I take it this is a new pension plan as the Government took on all the previous pension liabilities.

Sadly, pretty much everyone either voted Yes or couldn't take the minute total it would have taken to mark their ballot NO and send it off.

As an outsider looking in,I have read the agreement and if I was still employed by RM I would have voted NO!

With so few people voting it was always going to be accepted as money talks but I'm now waiting for the **** to hit the fan,I've already heard of grumblings from my old DO that the management want to remove more rounds and make existing ones bigger,one idea being kicked around is to have 3 in a Transit van covering 4 rounds,unbelieveable.

for the answer to your last question all you have to do now is read about the history of previous privatisations and also read how HQ and the likes of dingo have said privatisation will destroy the postal service- they were the original doom merchants but now we are meant to believe everything will be rosy in a privatised Royal Mail.

Either they were wrong about privatisation for the last 20 years or this deal is merely a pit stop in the race to the bottom which can only be called off by a government that offers something different to what the likes of Blair and Cameron serve up.

I read the agreement and believe we were strong enough to get a grip of the problems in deliveries and keep our employer on the back foot for the next 2 years but we are led to believe that the threat of strike action can get more results than actual strike action.

This sort of deal may have been workable in Nordic countries where unions and employers have built up a culture of co-operation but they are living in a far more equal society and in the UK its a different ball game altogether.All we have is a culture of employers breaking and walking away from agreements.

terrible news, too many short sighted people. To all who voted yes in delivery- enjoy your little bit of xtra cash as you will suffer much more than you will enjoy the peanuts what is the backpay. The union is finished as they have no clue of the problems in delivery & how many are getting sacked recently & replaced by 20 hour workers. Ill give it 12 months before this deal falls flat on its face & we are being balloted for industrial action again, our leaders couldnt cook a fry up in a cafe!

Sadly I think the majority followed your example and just did what the union told them to.
Even more sadly they'll be the same guys moaning their faces off shortly when they realise exactly what a "can do culture" actually means.

The vast majority voted for BT2010...and spent the next 4 years whining about it. I don't think much will change with this agreement.

At the end of the day, take the money. What on earth would this union have done with a no vote eh.

I always vote no on principle, I'd vote no for a massive pay rise ffs but I'm not naive enough to know it won't be voted for anyways.

I work in deliveries and for all those on here flapping, no matter what they do, you have a start time and a finish time. Grow some bollox and use them..
