we had 8 strike breakers go in one less than last time but 2 from the last time had days off but strike fever hit some of our office few more gone sick on fri

we had a couple of picket line meetings with a report of the public sector pay campaign meeting of 100 the night before. A couple of workers spoke up that we needed to unite with the other workers and push that forward, and all that attended signed the petition, to be forwarded to the CWU NEC and Voice magazine, to escalate the struggle, unite with other public sector workers and prepare for Royal Mail victimisation.

• escalate the action: one day strikes will not force Royal Mail into serious negotiations, and the strike action needs to be escalated to cause much more disruption immediately.

• unite our struggles: the NEC needs to approach other public sector unions immediately to coordinate our action, including strikes, with other public sector unions that are campaigning against the 2% pay limit imposed by the government.

Why not get in touch with public sector workers directly? I know people who work at Camden Council who are interested in co-ordinating at a grass-roots level. There's more as well.

Aboslutely, we should make the links from below and even start local united strikes and network them to build a movement around the country, even if Dave Ward anthe Postal exec fail to do that.

But we should still demand the national leadership fights for the united strikes from the top. Otherwise it lets them off the hook and means we don;t achieve thesame level of action. It would create a natoinal movement that could reallydefeat the government not just on pay but privatisation.

One of the lads bought 2 of those disposable BBQs from Tescos so even with only 10 on the line we had a good day. Canteen is closed on Saturdays here so it must have been murder for management smelling our bacon and sausage butties.

2 full timers and one part timer and 2 casuals came in. The manager came out and told us off for slowing someone down and getting in the way when he came in speeding last time and nearly hit us (we werent he could of drove throught if he went at the correct speed of 10 mph)............ we laughted and off he went.

It was a good one again in my MC today. Just done another 14 hours with no bother.

The sun was shining and spirits were high!!!

Also, a TNT driver and a business post driver decided not to cross our picket line!!! Wooooooo....

We had a good day yesterday too. A handful of strike breakers (the usual suspects) but virtually solid strike. Four of the strike breakers went in theback of a van with blankets over their heads like criminals going to court - pratts, do they think we don't know who they are?
The cafe opposite (the First Class) had CWU flags and placards outside and the lady running it was wearing a CWU strike t-shirt. The Branch has set up a tab for any pickets to get food and drink there, and a local pub is letting us use their loos.
One of the local MP's, Jeremy Corbyn, came to the picket and made a speech supporting us. He said that RM had persuaded the Press not to publicise the dispute, and suggested that we should do what he did when he was a Unison organiser and send a CWU delegation to each newspaper, and refuse to leave until we could speak to the NUJ and print union Reps.
The MC manager has been bringing in Agency casuals from Reeds, and the CWU Branch has pointed out to him that it is illegal to use Agency staff during a strike. His reply was that they are not doing the work of people on strike! So WTF are they doing? The Branch is seeking legal advice on this.
As last week, we also had a number of managers from RMHQ in Old Street go in. Apparently they are 'volunteers'. They didn't look too happy though. I expect we will have to resort most of their work today, or you can expect a lot of missorts coming your way today.
There were Yorkies full of work in every available nook and cranny on Monday. Will be interesting to see where they are going to put the backlog today.

This is a good point, would like to think someone from CWU. H/O could set this up? One thing we could all do is on just 1 day a week all buy a copy of the D/MIRROR as it seems to be the only nat/paper on our side? and on that day not buy our `normal paper` if we all did this it would soon show on their `market share`

Our's is tommorrow Thursday and I will be there from 03:00 am as we get the little scab beggers trying to sneek in mega earley. We have been able to encourage a couple not to cross the line. this was done simply by not talking to them only spoke to them with work related issues nothing else, and thankfully two decided not to cross the line anymore could not handle being ignored. They said it was far worse than they thougfht it would be. .So as we can see we are going to win this battle

Yeah, we had the agencies in too, coz we were 100% last week and this week, the management are trying to wind us up by bringing this lot in too. We knew they were coming in coz 5 minutes before their minibus arrived at the gates the Area manager, MCM and Shift manager would come down to observe us as these scum passed our picket line.

Our cleaners were telling us as the agency workers went in they were entering the MC and nothing was getting done!!! Fact of the matter is these people are just being brought past us in a vain attempt to antagonise us!!!

F**k that, we just laugh at the descision makers for bringing people in who are gonna make it worse for RM!!!!

Most of the office was on the line today,we packed up bout 9-30
Area rep told us that about 40 of 2000 bods went in so 98% is a darn good figure.
The 2 normal ones went in at our place

Just finished night shift picket at Bristol Mail Centre, bus stopped and gave us cigarettes.

Fire brigade stopped gave us 20 cans of lager.
