Re: Ridiculous customer complaints.
Another colleague.
A customer phoned in to complain that he had put the letters through their letter box in a "rude" way.

Did he push them in then pull them out repeatedly, getting faster all the time until the letters rocketed up the hall?

Customer 'throws' his door open after I had rung the doorbell (huge recorded packet) "Would you mind NOT ringing the doorbell, my wife is sleeping!!"

Re: Ridiculous customer complaints.
once when we had a similar monsoon deluge to recent times, had a woman complain that her mail had been opened with a knife at the mailcentre. I explained that what had actually happened was that the item was soaked through and split at both sides when folded to fit through her tiny letterbox. She wouldnt have it, even though nothing was missing. paper and water is not a great combination.

Delivered some domino's d2d's and some old guy comes out nearly roaring, saying he's lived there 40 years and no one at his address is called 'Pizza lover'!! told me to try next door but one because some foreigners had moved in.

Re: Ridiculous customer complaints.
Coming up to Xmas last year and a middle aged lady was getting more and more anxious each day that the two books she'd ordered for her daughter hadn't turned up after two weeks. I asked her where they were from as Amazon are normally pretty fast and she replied "Kobo - it's a website on the internet". It took me most of my meal relief to explain to her that Kobo only sold eBooks and that she probably ought to look in her email to see if they had let her know if the books had been "delivered" to her Kobo account.
Next day she was very apologetic and embarrassed......

Re: Ridiculous customer complaints.
had a few ridiculous ones in my 2 short years.
park outside a guys house RM on the van, RM on my coat etc wandered down the drive way. had 2 big parcels, no answer, parcel said leave in porch - opened door to leave parcels in porch as requested. next thing i know this guy is running down the drive way with a phone in his hand saying he is calling the police for breaking and entering turns out it was his house... after i explained i was a postman delivering his parcels as requested he continued to get more abusive shouting and swearing at me and trying to grab the parcels out of my hands, i took the parcels back to the office and wrote no 739 left due to customer harassment/abusive behavior.
in my first week i accidentally posted number 45 in 43 et to about 65 and some woman comes shouting and swearing at me for that then give the mail back to me... i asked her if shed be so kind as to pop it through the correct address on her way back :D
another place this woman moaned at me for walking on her grass, but her car takes up the whole driveway - literally not even a cm each side, so i'm not sure where she expects me to walk!

Had a complaint about knocking a door Too Loudly. I only ring the bell once now and then right a p739 out. Longing for the day when the bells not working and they complain that I didn't knock the door. My reply will be, not my problem you bells not working, shouldnt have complained about me knocking the door too loudly. Revenge is Sweet.

Re: Ridiculous customer complaints.
My partner had this prize idiot complaining that he delivers next doors mail to her address. The fact of the matter is that her neighbour is always at her house when my partner delivers and runs out asking for her mail. Now if he gets no answer he tries the neighbour and invariably the addressee is sitting there jawing.
