Whether this agreement gets a yes or a no vote, it'll be deliveries that vote it in or out in effect as there is at least double the amount of DO staff in RM then what there is in MCsdvbuk55 wrote:I'm not sniping I'm out and out criticising IMO there should be a separate vote. MC staff shouldn't be voting on issues that have no bearing on their terms and conditions - it isn't all MCs fault - offer them a carrot and they're going to bite but agreeing to this Agenda for Growth does NOT address the issues in the consultative ballot nor the issues on the IA Ballot all it does offer is money to those who aren't going to be subject to the agreement and so called protection for which we have to lose the ability to have a strike. This isn't a good deal by any stretch of the imagination something in short supply in some areas of RM.hubbahubba wrote:I didn't say ALL the problems in DO's are down to the staff that work there.I said there are a wide range of reasons for an equally wide range of issues, and for dvbuk to keep on sniping at MC workers is at best counterproductive, and at worst just breeds resentment amongst fellow RMG staff, just when we should be supporting each other the most.
Lets face it there are greedy/narrow-minded/selfish people in all walks of life, all i'm saying is treat people as individuals, rather than grouping them in a negative fashion...

That's not strictly true.SpacePhoenix wrote:Whether this agreement gets a yes or a no vote, it'll be deliveries that vote it in or out in effect as there is at least double the amount of DO staff in RM then what there is in MCs
If 20,000 delivery staff were to vote Yes and 25,000 delivery staff were to vote no then 10,000 mailcentre staff voting yes will swing the vote from no to yes. It will be CWU members that are responsible for the direction of the result, which function they come from is immaterial.
What you really mean is that delivery staff have the greater potential to influence the vote but that's not the same thing as saying deliveries vote it in or out.
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

Yes that would appear obvious to most people but .........................fishtank wrote:That's not strictly true.SpacePhoenix wrote:Whether this agreement gets a yes or a no vote, it'll be deliveries that vote it in or out in effect as there is at least double the amount of DO staff in RM then what there is in MCs

which stirs up memories of the 2010 deal/fiasco/farce/shambles,,,,why would any d.o. staff vote for unlimited d2ds, and almost 5 hr delivery spans??,,,, but apparently we did. !!,,,,,bollox.

Re: Has nobody thought of the Consequences of a "no" vote?
Working in a mail centre is f**king sweet. I know the shift manager so I can arrive at work 20mins late for work every day and know one says a word. I s**t on my colleagues who have to carry me as I work in a team and am not assessed as an individual. When the manager tells me to do something I just ignore him because as long as some of them do it, the rest of us will get away with not doing it. I have my own toilets and even my own socialising room where I can leave work at any time and eat or have a play on the mobile. I know about 200 people here, many of whom I have known since childhood. I am completely covered for the next decade.

Actually as a Delivery Guy I thought it was very good irony/sarcasm. Over the top, but not so far as to be obvious.
I will overlook the tosser part though as I think he will get a little pleasure from that reaction.

Re: Has nobody thought of the Consequences of a "no" vote?
All of it is true but I doubt all of it applies to the same individual. It is possible to know 200 people if you work in a large Mail Centre and if you have done a variety of shifts over a 20 or more years.
And I suppose lateness is probably one of the main issues in a Mail Centre...
Is it funny or ironic - somewhere in between but neither to be honest...

Re: Has nobody thought of the Consequences of a "no" vote?
Dvbuk55: as always snipping, blaming others, winging about how the block vote of processing is causing all your delivery problems!
Just get delivery to vote no, it's quite simple if your assessment is so compelling then surely you and other will swing the vast majority of delivery behind a no vote!
Problem is you know it's going to be a yes vote and you'll have to stop going in early, leave your car at home and not leave early. That's generalisation at its best but you know it goes on and yet you bitch about processing.
Look to your own function and sort it out before browbeating processing.
