Re: North London Delivery revisions
I think it's partly because the union and dingo included had a chance to stand together by fixing those offices that weren't working and have chosen to let that chance go and now dingo puts up a post about 'what you can achieve, look at us we're doing just great' which to many is like a kick in the balls, because it's nothing more than gloating. What about all those offices that have no reps and those areas where the unit reps where ill advised by senior reps with regards ep/bsi. The union HQ had a chance to cap it and fix the problems that manifest into other issues, but have chosen to ignore it by glossing it over with a review here and there that will solve nothing. Work all your paid hours some say and then go home, but it's not as easy as that and yet it's clear that postman pat is still alive and kicking in London.tomangoe wrote:I can't believe the flack Dingo is getting-what London have got is how all offices across the country should be implementing. The Reps have done a great job and maybe if other offices stuck together like London everyone would get a decent working environment. The agreements are there for everyone to use so don't get uppity and jealous just cos London are winners. We have stopped all revision activity in our office until we get what we want and agreements are abided by.If we don't get what we want nothing will be voted on by the membership (note the membership, not the union). It's not down to Area or Divisional reps to sign anything off without the members agreement, if they do report them to HQ. No other union in the country has the involvement in the workplace that we do, most offices have access to a rep almost immediately who confront management daily. If everyone stopped doing their own thing and stuck together we could have Utopia-like London!

Re: North London Delivery revisions
The simple reason North London got those agreements is that the ninja bean counters behind the scenes wouldn't pay the cash for the huge number of VRs that a move towards 100 bsi would have precipitated.dingo wrote: The simple reason North London got those agreements is that management knew that unless they moved away from 100BSI and agreed a reasonable improvement then they would not get a revision in any part of North London and if Royal Mail choose to take executive action then they would be not just fighting North London they would be fighting London. Thats called Unity some of you may want to try it.
It has got nothing to do with unity or standing strong. Absolutely nothing.
You live in a dreamworld.
One day (soon) they will come for you and you will be left on your own because the stump of a union you have left behind won't care.
Should we all go out because N16 have got to move to 71 bsi one day?
Never let the hand you hold, hold you down.

Maybe its areas and division reps out of London that are the plonkersfishtank wrote:You can only base your revision on either matching or improving your current performance.tomangoe wrote: If everyone stopped doing their own thing and stuck together we could have Utopia-like London!
How many offices outside of London have been allowed to operate at 66%?
We don't all have "plonkers" as managers.

Yep, it's that old adage. Re: North London Delivery revisions
What it clearly shows is that there is no unity in the union and the divisional reps obviously don't even talk to each other because if they did they would all be applying the same consistent standards across the whole country.woofwoof wrote:Maybe its areas and division reps out of London that are the plonkers
I think the staff have a right to know why Royal Mail is happy to accept members in North London working at 66EP while it pushes other members of the same company in a different part of the country to work at 109EP.
Forget the union though I think as many members of staff as possible should email Moya and ask her exactly that question justsayit@royalmail.com

Re: North London Delivery revisions
Perhaps if other regions received the same kind of support as London, then there would be more chance of union members in that area sticking together? The reality is most offices, outside of the capital, have one rep doing his or her best, on the local level, without any real support from the area reps, let alone anyone higher up.

Nope! We have principles and we believe that unity is strength and it's one for all and all for one. The union has been destroyed by the selfishness, ambition and self preservation of the leadership and their minions. Shame on them.aiden01 wrote:so if you worked in London it would be a yes yes yes from youk979aaa wrote:A NO vote from me too! Mother we have had plenty of VRs under the revisions but we still have not agreed to 100bsi. We have never thought we would get the support of you anyway. In 2009 plenty done our work whilst we were fighting a dispute you would not find that happening in London.motherhubbard wrote:The simple reason North London got those agreements is that the ninja bean counters behind the scenes wouldn't pay the cash for the huge number of VRs that a move towards 100 bsi would have precipitated.dingo wrote: The simple reason North London got those agreements is that management knew that unless they moved away from 100BSI and agreed a reasonable improvement then they would not get a revision in any part of North London and if Royal Mail choose to take executive action then they would be not just fighting North London they would be fighting London. I live in the real world and deal with real issues perhaps instead of moaning on here you did likewise your members might be in a better position. Too many want to blame everyone else when the answer is stand up and fight for what you believe is right, don't surrender and then blame others. Its a local agreement a revision so make sure you get it right.
But never mind you keep blaming us in London. It says more about you then it does us. The fact is we have spoken up for people on this site and voice our concerns but equally we have organised and protected the members in London which is our role as London reps.

Re: North London Delivery revisions
dingo you mentioned offices in scotland who were out for 19 days and it was them and not london who got ia rolling last time
ask them what they are working at OVER 1oo% bsi why because area and nationally they were lied to and forced to accept terms they didnt want too to maintain ft work
corrupt absolutely corrupt
hq is not fit for purpose and has been compromised

Re: North London Delivery revisions
The walks were already planned for a 5 day week in our office and the rep was desperate to sell it to everyone. So we got shafted into it even though I know a fair few of us voted for wallington weeks.
I also think we are working above 100bsi and still being chased for more hours by the DSM.
I think you need to see how the job is elsewhere Dingo, because if you think London is representative of the rest of the UK then you're horribly wrong.
The CWU is in serious danger of losing a lot of members, we work in a decent office and still a lot of people are talking about pulling out.

How can local reps elsewhere get it right when they aren't being told anything and haven't got a clue what to aim for? Regional/divisional reps should have been involved in every revision and made sure that they were carried out correctly. Instead you've got a situation where some offices are doing precisely f*ck all whilst others haven't a hope in hell of finishing a delivery on time.I live in the real world and deal with real issues perhaps instead of moaning on here you did likewise your members might be in a better position. It will be interesting to see what Steve Cameron's new remit of improving efficiency across Operations will throw into the mix.
Surely he will have to start where efficiency is poorest....
