Callcredit and Royal Mail partner to deliver change of address alert service

Callcredit Software, Analytics & Fraud Division has developed a real time anti-fraud solution using Royal Mail’s National Change of Address (NCOA) Alert service.

fraud mag glassNCOA Alert will be available to Callcredit’s customers as part of its CallValidate product, which is an identity verification and fraud prevention solution. This means that clients can include daily updates of Royal Mail’s postal redirection information within their fraud prevention strategy.

CallValidate enables identity verification, payment verification and fraud prevention checks in a single, configurable decision engine. It now contains nine individual core modules, each containing an extensive menu of highly configurable services.

John, head of ID & fraud product strategy for Callcredit, commented: “I’m delighted we have been able to work with Royal Mail to add their market leading NCOA Alert service to our ID & fraud product suite. NCOA Alert will provide additional important anti-fraud capability that is a vital link between the online electronic verification process and the offline documentary identity verification process.”

NCOA Alert is the latest service to be added to the CallValidate fraud module which offers 25 separate anti-fraud services delivering around 100 configurable fraud warnings. Recent developments to CallValidate also include:

CallValidate3D, a knowledge based authentication solution
Bank Account Plus – a payment validation solution able to return a 100 per cent confident match to non-consented bank accounts
Income Verification – ability to spot overstated income declarations
Ownership Fraud Alert (OFA) - used to identify fraudulent use of bank accounts and cards by revealing the true owner’s identity and address.

So, RM is basically selling information provided in confidence by customers. I hope there is an opt-out on the COA application form, there is enough abuse of information already, and Big Brotherism.
