I couldn't give a rats ass about what the Glasgow and District Amal branch recommends because they have done f*ck all for Ayrshire and Dumfries and Galloway ... we haven't had a Divisional rep at our place since I started in 1990, we did have 1 at one of our meetings away from the work about 17 years ago and he was a waste of space

Of course, they will almost all vote Yes. But, we can all expect that - and no hard feelings. However, I have always thought the association is loosely tied together anyway - the functions are just too different and differently affected by the negative aspects of the Agreement.

And given that the chance of a National Strike is virtually nil for a very long time. We in delivery should expect no favours.. We need to vote 'No' in large numbers to send a message - regardless of the final outcome.
The good old days of cutters and tippers have nearly all gone Chris as most packets are in York sleeves nowadays. It's mainly just the mail sort nowadays that is tipped. As for sorters not many of them left as most is mech nowadays. Years ago I remember hundred of sorters in hundreds of little offices. I would think they will vote yes but it is still down to delivery and if they don't want it vote no and it will be thrown out. Were that leads us who knows. Delivery are the majority and if so many are not happy it's an easy decision to make!

I was just being facetious... Someone from MC once described his job as cutting, tipping and sorting and I found it funny and it stuck.

But some of them perform those functions - the bags will have to cut open and tipped and some of the mail will be manually sorted... :whistle

Yes, it is down to delivery: not a lot to do with MC staff. In fact, not all delivery staff have that bad so they will be well entitled (rightly) to vote Yes.

For me, it is about sending a message... A 'No' outcome will be messy anyway... But it is still a No from me: I am willing to take that risk. :nervous
