if its that bad put a transfer into your closest delivery office or is the difference in how hard we work compared to you enough to put you off,& continue paying the public transport?

we got 3 grand 14 years ago it covered you for first 3 years after that pay your own way even that was taxed and ni so hope u see what I meant and fares have gone up considerably since then.

why don't you just transfer to a mc or is it 2 far away from you. rem we are all paid the same basic pay.

lmao, anyone going from delivery to mail centers has to take a massive drop in hours as you all have bugger all to do compared to us!! One full timer in my DO couldn't handle delivery any longer physically or mentally & he had to go from 40 hours to 20 to get in a mail center!!! thats why folks don't make the move! Next question....

So one of the biggest issues in Mail Centres is the travelling time to work. At least you have come up with a personal point not just somebody else's...

Travelling time to and from delivery point is just one of the issues in some delivery offices - some of the offices have been merged so longer way to go to deliver and some also spend longer to get to work.

Travelling time is only a minor issue but still an issue amongst so many others? Because some times the travelling time is not always reckoned with when some managers calculate how long a delivery takes...

Like I said, if there are few serious issues facing MC staff as relates to Industrial Relations (IR) and the Agreements, we would easily be able to read about it on your forum.

Lets have some real opinions, anecdotes and how things affect you instead of just quoting someone else post and saying thank you.

Yes, the wage increase and protection is good but that is for everyone...

* I suppose being sent to another office miles away is another issue - that of flexibility. Working over your time is also a real issue even if 'genuinely' thought that they cannot make people work over their time - also covered by the flexibility arrangement and harassing/bullying managers.

Why is he still going on about what happened 14 years ago? Surely, he would have been able to budget and discount his travel cost by now...

So we know it is about the money (&TC) but what about the biggest aspect of the Agreement which is the Industrial relations - the money will ran out and soon be spent...

And even if we reject RM's agreement they will not be able to get away with not paying an increase and back pay; eventually!

we only have one mc so how do you move to your nearest one and do is even further away.

You use the services of estate agents and a removals firm, settle into your new residence right close to the Mail Centre you work in and stop whinging on here about commuting for an hour each day over fourteen years.

what a load of pish ... I started in 1990 and at 1991 it was common to have half a bag of mail on a Monday, Tuesday and Saturday and a busy day was a bag and a half and that is including packets in those days before Parcel Force took the readers digest contract we had to deliver them along with packets from Britannia records and books direct so we weren't running about with 2 or 3 packets .... we have way more mail letters and flats included ... it just goes to show if you spout *rap long enough it becomes the truth

i agree.. back in the early 90's a walk was about 300 drops.. about 6 packets.. and get it all in 2 bags easy.... 2 lots of d2d, done over 2 weeks... and there where 3 times the amount of staff at our office, with 3 times the amount of walks..

and they where making profit then..

so they are making a lot more money now,,, and i get the feeling royal mail are not telling the whole truth about their profits.. i mean making a s..t lot more money now..

all deliveries finished 9.30 second deliv went on into afternoon say 12oclock sat was home before family were up
we had a life after work then
mail down f**k all
does our own union need to lie to us now
the banks never used to send out statements cos we never had bank accounts to start with
the heaviest day was bt day remember nearly every door every quarter
