Just wondered when the second deliveries are coming back and the one hour 45 delivery (2 on a heavy day).
You could take time and pride in your job, not have to cut corners and you were trained in most aspects of the job.
And the free bus tokens.
Dont know about anyone else but I would take a 25% cut just to be able to have the satisfaction of being able to complete within time instead of having to rush ALL the time. This now seems the norm in EVERY office. How did it ever get like this ????
I would love to punch those two cretins L+C.

It got like this when the Government decided to make it purely business rather than a service.
I would love to go back to the 2 deliveries. First delivery could be Royal Mail letters only plus specials.
And 2nd delivery would be the rest of the cr*p plus any late Royal Mail letters.
That would give us a chance to compete since we cannot lower prices to attract business

You could always try splitting the walk in half, take your meal break first then take the first half out, using the vans, come back to "use toilet facilities" cuppa and take the second half out up to your time. or have your meal break half way through then taking the second half out.
food for thought one way of doing the job properly

Second deliveries never ended in our office! No,they kept you in sorting longer and then kept bringing in more mail, which meant you had to take out your first & second deliveries together in one round. God help people like me who don't drive and had to stand waiting for their second & third bags out in the freezing winter, that's if the bloody driver could be bothered to get up off her arse and do what she was paid for! No she spent an hour or more in her house while a prat like me shivered out in the cold and even when you rang up the office to complain(if they could be asked to pick up the phone that is)they treated you like a whining child....

If you can afford to take a 25% cut, you're better off than I am...jinglejangle wrote:Just wondered when the second deliveries are coming back and the one hour 45 delivery (2 on a heavy day).
