Someone turns the pages for me and I have a long straw.General Mannerheim wrote:Wow! How do you manage to read the papers and drink tea?dvbuk55 wrote:Well there's the problem! Being at work and working isn't the same. The key log is completed by the driver signing out on leaving and signing back on return. You must be careful that you don't over guild the lily. I work in the locker, I receive in, put out to walks and allocate by myself up to 300 specials a day all completed by 0800 from a start time of 0545.Prepare pre 0900 specials get a vehicle and PDA prepared for delivery before 0900 together with what I consider may be holdovers that won't meet the 1300 timescale. At 0800 I prepare the replacement PDAs, we have 91, hand out vans to individuals whose vehicle is being replaced for whatever reason, make out custom charges received from Revenue Protection both ordinary and Specials and open the locker to the monkeys at 0845. I ensure the drivers/HCT guys sign for the vehicle/trolley, PDA, Specials, fuel card etc. This takes from 0845 to sometimes 1045 at worst and 10 to 1015 at best. I also between handing out the stuff help in the callers office. In addition I keep the paperwork up to date for signing in logs, fuel cards, PDAs etc.Mezza wrote:With regard working to our time - what i mean is we are at work from our start time through to our finish time. We never finish early - well on the rare occassion of a quiet day when everyone is back early i can sometimes make 10-15 minutes (being in the RLE).
We are full time and no we haven't done a work to time ratio - but as i have to complete a sheet of logging the drivers keys in and out the information is freely available.
We have never had an issue with working our hours and delivery staff finishing early, but adding more work to the indoor duties when delivery staff are going home early is taking the piss.
I'm part time and carry out that work in 5.5 hours a day up to 11.15. I don't consider it be excessive but it's definitely a full day within the time. Now if I was to be working a full day and had 2.5 hours left in the shift...........well you see where I'm coming from.

Our PHGs would be ecstatic with only 91 PDAs to deal with, not to mention the customs, keepsafes, redirection cards and anything else that gets dumped unto them.
Management regularly require phg/callers staff to take out partial deliveries.

You're speaking as though there is more than 1, in our office it is just 1 and it's me on 5 and a half hours. The afternoon locker guy does the collections staff and starts just as I leave.tasam wrote:Our PHGs would be ecstatic with only 91 PDAs to deal with, not to mention the customs, keepsafes, redirection cards and anything else that gets dumped unto them.

Re: Grievance Fiasco
And the saga continues.......been told by DOM that from this week a whole delivery duty will be split between the RLE and DOM Support.
There is nothing being taken off our duties, we simply have to make room for at least 90mins delivery each (it's actually more like 2 hours on a busy day).
Obviously i don't mind this one little bit and have tried to explain that this will mean less important parts of my duty being left at the end of day - such as killing off and bagging up SD'd, recordeds and tracked items.
Head and brick wall spring to mind, but as alwasy i arrive on time and go home on time and don't really care what happens in the middle or what is left.
