Because the information is apparently wrong date incorrect, location of accident and injury not correct either for starters.

yes i understood that the info was wrong, i was specifically asking the reason he wanted it corrected

As it does not match my insurance claim or injury details from the hospital It should be corrected
as I think its also a sham for A&I reporting systems if someone gets away with incorrectly knowingly
falsifying legal documents

ok it was just incase you were claiming against royal mail, if you were it would have been in your interest to leave it uncorrected if you were

The injury itself was not reportable as a RIDDOR meaning that it was likely your ASR was excluded from the initial Manager's Accident Investigation. However once your accident became a Lost Time Accident, and especially once you had incured more than seven days off, the ASR should have been passed the information.

The Manager who was originally logged in during the ERICA has exclusive access at the click of a button to your ERICA for printing. That person cannot make your report for you so if you haven't actually sat there, provided responses to the questions and verified the information input then it is not your accident report. Tell the Manager that you would like to re-report the ERICA or amend it accordingly, it is your right to report your accident.

BTW, he may be making a claim against Royal Mail, until the details of the investigation are correct then I see no reason to exclude the employer from liability, partial or otherwise.

ERICA's are LEGAL documents.
Therefore any incorrect information contained within them could land the manager and/or postie in trouble.
If the case went to court for example, and another party/witness challenged the version of events, and had further evidence/witnesses to prove it, then the court could charge them with perjury or perverting the course of justice or whatever.

If the info isn't right, refuse to sign it, and insist on the correct info being imputted.

What makes it strange is the internal accident report completed by the DOM was
done after he came to my home to visit me following my stay in hospital. He was
well aware of hospitilisation and also I gave him my initial 2 week sicknote ..

RTA should have been RCA its on the top of the Royal Mail form - sorry
for any confusion the accident happened on a walk
