LTB 26/14 - Mandatory CWU E&D Training for All CWU Reps - Motion 49
No. 26 /14
Ref: E&D/01/14
Date: 13 January 2014
To: All Branches
Dear Colleague,
Mandatory CWU Equality and Diversity Training for All CWU Representatives – Motion 49
Following the carriage of Motion 49 (set out below) at Annual Conference 2013, which required the NEC to work with Branches to carry out an audit of those representatives that have undertaken the mandatory CWU Equality and Diversity Course, I am writing to inform Branches that the Education and Training Department will over the next few weeks be providing all Branches with a list of representatives who have undertaken this training as of 31 December 2013. This will assist Branches in making sure that each and every representative has undertaken this mandatory course in line with CWU Conference policy.
49 Category A:
Conference instructs the NEC to work with Branches to compile a comprehensive audit of who has completed the mandatory E&D training so reps who have not completed the training can be easily identified. Courses can then be more easily arranged to accommodate those still requiring the training.
As this course is compulsory, if you have existing or new representatives in any CWU role who require the course, my department will be happy to assist by arranging either Regional or Branch based courses at a time and location to suit your representatives. Please contact Maxine Todd at mtodd@cwu.org to arrange a course or to find out about regional courses.
Please contact me at tlavelle@cwu.org should you have any queries relating to this LTB.
Best wishes,
Trish Lavelle
Head of Education and Training

It is the policy of the CWU that all our representatives undertake the mandatory 1 day equality and diversity training course as soon as practical after being elected or appointed to their role brother brothermagrew.brothermagrew wrote:does this include CWU health and safety reps?
