Isn't there another thread about the business stopping the practice of paying someone to cover your duty?

• To facilitate employees making their own arrangements to cover and swap duties (subject to approval from their manager) within contracted hours, providing quality of service is not adversely affected and there is no additional cost to the business.
  • The Manager hasn't approved it
  • You have indicated that it may extend beyond contracted hours
  • The business targets of 3pm & 4pm for urban and rural latest delivery times are also likely to be affected

So under this situation, what the poster really need is for someone to swap days off or someone to come in on a day off to help him out - the latter is probably still not going to be approved by the manager...

Within contracted hours is a dodgy one! Posties regularly work beyond their contracted hours and most that do OT for managers also work beyond their contracted hours.

Quality of Service - what a laugh! :roll:

Good point! and regarding sickness their was an office not 2 far from ours that saw about 12 guys go off sick when local football team where playing at wembley with a 1300 ko out of about 70 walks! our dom had 2 go their and do delivery app none of them were sacked! maybe he is just being an arse because of this, i will ask again and with advice i have been had on here i think he will cave in many thanks everyone!

Can anyone please help me?
I'm a postie of 8years, I'm a holiday relief floater and cover two different batches. It has been 12 weeks since I've last had a Saturday off, never mind a long weekend. I'm growing very frustrated at this as every time a duty whose long weekend needs covered I'm taken off my weekly holiday relief and put on daily holiday relief. I really dont think this is fair and could be an equality issue. Any help with this matter would be very welcome. Thanks in advance
