The Royal Mail is investigating after a postbox was found lying on its side this morning.

The cast iron post box in Woodside Avenue, North Finchley, fell or was knocked over sometime between Thursday evening and Friday morning.

1. It's rusted through, some numpties realised it was loose and pulled it over for larfs.

Definitely 2.

1. is just implausible.

1.The collections driver lost his key for it and was trying to roll it back to the sorting office...
2. Too many drunks/dogs have deposited acidic p!ss on it which has rotted the cast iron at the base.
3. The local postie lost his mind under stress and tried to do an 'Indian Joe' with it (Remember One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest?).
