Anybody know how the North West Briefing went today?

Anyone know how the London & S E went today....

Strange we haven't had updates on the success of the road show since the disputed result of the North East get together. Is this a sign that everything in the garden ain't rosy and that there's more opposition than expected............not surprising of course because the overwhelming largest element of voters are the very people who've been hung out to dry yet again.

I wonder what would be the unions strategy if it was a NO vote and what concessions RM would make in order to get a yes vote.

The NW one was on Wednesday mate and it was pretty low key.
A few people mentioned things like the attendance agreement being shat upon,a few people mentioned about dignity and respect, mainly The Fat cats where too busy selling how groundbreaking the new deal was and how striking was soooo bad and trying to confound people with legal talk(but I'm legally trained ) and most of my `team` was most annoyed that the so called lawyer didn't turn up for the event I wonder why?)

Thanks for that General, sorry I missed your post. Strange the legal eagle didn't turn up in the NW as well as the NE maybe he was concerned if he told porkies he might get sued or maybe he just found a conscience, pretty rare in the circles he must be in.

Top table always speaks well,but then they don't have to deal with the pond scum we do at local level.
Personally it could be a good agreement IF the mangers abides by it, but after the last few `new dawns` I have absolutely no confidence that they will.

I was at the London one which had Anglia reps , South East Reps , South Central Reps and London Reps.

I think most who left there was happy with the all the main parts of the agreement . The solicitor Ivan Walker was very good and explained and answered the questions.

A few questions on delivery around absorption and resourcing to demand or workload. Bob answered them and explained the forward agenda.

I spoke to those who had been to all the Briefings thus far and they have been mostly the same after the main points of the agreements has been explained then most accept its a good deal on all those issues.

However when the Delivery part of the agreement is explained there is a load of questions on workload resourcing etc. bob explains that the business wants annualised hours and PDA recordings to be used to inform resourcing .

Now the next 2 briefings are Scotland and Northern Ireland.

And don't say a new incentive deal because I might throw up a little.

Snag with the incentive scheme is we won't know what it is until after the vote and exactly the same with the reviews - why would you buy a pig in a poke, tbh I think we're beyond the Secret Santa stage.

with Ipswich mail centre under review there are plenty here who will be happy to end up on dly. whatever the issues on dly it is a better option than the dole .

Not when your life is being made a misery day in day out, you are being asked to accept and if not bullied in to longer and longer walks and on top covering lapsed walks due to sickness or efficiency cuts. Refused overtime payments whilst at the same time being threatened with suspension/conduct code if you do not complete the delivery. Many postmen/women are at their wits end and in some cases suicidal. To some being made redundant would be a blessing.
I agree entirely that there are many that escape this continual abuse, but there are also many that come in early up to two hours before their start time UNPAID in order that they can get finished and avoid the daily conflict that some not all managers engage in.

Neither Ivan nor Bob bothered to turn up to the NW, the top table spent all their time giving themselves a pat on the back, and even though they repeatedly asked for questions relating to the agreement all questions fired back were about issues in delivery.

How the f can a job make you suicidal.

Here's a novel idea all stand together a tell the manager to get stuffed, don't come in early take your time and finish when you stop getting paid.

If your worklife is that bad that you want to kill yourself how is this going to make life better for those I presume you work so hard to support. Kill the rogue manager and make everyone's life better either way your family would have to go on without you.

The briefing i went to,Bob Gibson was truculent and very defensive throughout in contrast to Dave Ward who articulated his argument in a measured,constructive tone,Ivan Walker explained the legal elements concisely and without equivocation or indeed semantics,the political reality is, with deliveries comprising over 80% of the membership,the hierarchy need to ensure tangible results on the ground this time,if they fail,i foresee a mass exodus of members,trust and faith are ebbing away in delivery land.

Exactly, its a silly situation to agree to... well we dont know do we! All i know is that there is a world of difference between a delivery in laptop world and a delivery in the real one
