Postman Eddie to foot it through Northern Space for Hospice

Portadown postman Drury is no stranger to walking, given the nature of his job. But in May next year, he will be footing it for 118k through the picturesque Northern Spain.

It’s the popular Trail of St James, aka Camino De Santiago, and the purpose is charity. The Southern Area Hospice in Newry will be the beneficiary.

The Gateway Theatre – of which Eddie is a member and plays the Pantomime Dame – has set the ball rolling with 50-plus tickets for the opening night of the panto on Thursday January 16. These have been given to Eddie to sell and the proceeds will go to the excellent cause.

The show is ‘Sinbad the Sailor, at Portadown Town Hall, with Eddie playing ‘Semolina Sinbad’, the hero’s mother! There is a limited number at a fiver a time (usual price £7.50) and they can had by ringing Eddie on 07866 273306.
