Shall we open a book with the dates on when this ballot is going to take place? I reckon end of Febuary and I am being optimistic

I'm confused as to why it's taking so long because it's a no-brainer to be voted in.
Either you take HQ at its word and they really do want the members to know what they are voting on or...they are scared of an embarrassingly low turnout even with it accepted.

royal mail and the union will not want a low turn-out.some demented staff think there is no need to vote as it will be voted in.a low vote will play into the hands of the no voters,not much been said in north london yet but it does seem a lot of staff will be voting against the union.our reps will be told how to try and pull off a yes vote i think there are to many unanswered questions with no answers.headquaters have now just put the onus on its members to find a result.

Fish the CWU want to make sure every rep has an understanding of what is a new concept a legal contract between the employer and the CWU.

The level of understanding on here and on the CWU Facebook page shows that people have very little understanding of the agreement and what it actually means.

Hopefully Ivan walker the CWU solicitor will be at some of the briefings to explain as he was at the national briefing which most reps found very useful.

Equally the issues of Christmas prevented the CWU from holding the CWU unit reps meetings plus it's added a Scottish and Nothern Ireland units reps meetings.

The CWU believe it is. Good agreement and will be supported by the majority of the membership. I think most members and reps once explained will give the agreement a chance.

Anyone with a half ounce of common sense will vote NO - despite all the flannel and hyperbole if it was any good it wouldn't need the road shows it would stand on it's own recognisance. It just needs the reps to bite the bullet and tell it as it is.

The problem is the agreement, as presented, is deliberately vague about everything EXCEPT the financial incentives, which is obviously a deliberate ploy by the CWU to get it voted through. Those of us who have taken the time to read it, realise it is full of promises of reviews, but little in the way of true commitment for change.

Ours too voted NO to 2010 after the Road show on a unit Reps vote much against the Area and Div Reps advice who subsequently spit their dummies out and refused to visit the unit because "you've already made your minds up".

That's the problem with the CWU the thought processes behind the negotiators in no way reflects the reality on the ground and it's those thought processes that the union wannabes follow rather than support the units they are supposed to represent. The main question for Branch will be where to hold the xmas bash at our expense.

to right but the difference is a 5 year chance , we all no what liars r/m are when it comes to agreements , lapsing for instance was 12 weeks in summer to keep you out for your paid hours now its 11 months a year everyday if you have time or not , £1000 in payments which very little d/o have had inc ours , so I think I no my vote is

Workload will always need to grow to take into account of the pay differential that RM OPGs enjoy over their counterparts with other carriers for RM to remain competitive ... add to this the fact that the managerial structure within the business is still considered to be well remunerated by comparison to other companies and over resourced particularly in some support/admin areas and there really isn't much of an alternative.

yeah that's how the story goes and no doubt will end up but ive been surprised by how many members are wary of this deal and the word is that the branch who are usually first on the recommendations band wagon are gonna leave it up to members to read the agreement and decide,so certainly not the branch euphoria of BT2010 so far.

Well the road shows haven't kicked off yet and once Del boy turns up in the yellow three wheeler it'll be a no brainer imo.

They are waiting for the recent £400 payment to be a distant memory, and the first credit card bill after Christmas arriving, before targeting the gullible.
