The help is the reserves isn't it? Well it is at our office. Reserves dont have a duty in December so they take all the packets around in the vans in the afternoons. most postmen are pretty much leaving every parcel behind and only delivering mail hence finishing on time or upto 30-40 mins over some days.

That's because there are no holidays allowed and the same must apply to MC so they too should have additional staff sans the casuals.postiewhite wrote:The help is the reserves isn't it? 4 reserves in our D.O. and we've currently got 2 staff on long term sick and 2 on light duties... so that accounts for the ''spare'' reserves over xmas!postiewhite wrote:The help is the reserves isn't it? It's a shame that ALL M.C. workers aren't made to do a stint on deliveries.mancpassion wrote:Im a casual and is working at a collection office, having spent the the past 2 years in MC's..

Agree having worked 26 years in delivery and coming up to 2 in a Mail Centre the difference between the 2 functions is vast.TrueBlueTerrier wrote:wacko74 wrote:It's a shame that ALL M.C. workers aren't made to do a stint on deliveries.mancpassion wrote:Im a casual and is working at a collection office, having spent the the past 2 years in MC's..

Yep, there's never been holidays allowed during xmas pressure in the time that I've worked for RM. In MCs over xmas pressure most shifts will probably doing both inward and outward where as normally earlies and lates do outward (but do DSA and Mailsort - inward) and nights do inward.dvbuk55 wrote:That's because there are no holidays allowed and the same must apply to MC so they too should have additional staff sans the casuals.postiewhite wrote:The help is the reserves isn't it?
