£400 2 bottles ofwine a bottle of whisky and 2 boxes of chocs so far. 90 quid today alone Town delivery.
Talking to people and being nice to them all year usually helps.
Youve gotta laugh at the miserable bastards who dont talk, leave gates open and trample over lawns all year who think by being nice to people for 2 weeks before Xmas will get them a shitload of tips.
3 daysto go! Then off till New Years Eve
Maybe it's a Geordie thing!!!!!

Had a bar of Turkish Delight chocolate (supermarket own brand no-less) off a little old lady.
Said to her "you really shouldn't"
"oh but you deserve it, have a nice Christmas young man"
"Honestly, you tight old witch, you REALLY shouldn't" as I dropped it down the nearest kerbside grid. :nana :nana :nana

£560 plus wine and sweets but I share with holiday and weekly cover and if I'm on day off they still give the tips to me. I'm on a rural I think it makes a big difference to town walks.

I'll keep an eye out for that story when the Daily Heil run the usual story of ungrateful posties - you may become famous. :chuckle :chuckle :chuckle :chuckle

Reminds me of a postie in my office who never ever tried to be friendly to his customers, and only picked up £15 one year. He told us that he approached one house where a young lad was sitting on the wall clutching a £5. Getting all excited at the thought a rare Christmas box was heading his way. He then asked the boy if the fiver was for him. 'No', said the boy, 'it's for the paper boy'. :left:

I'm on £32 so far all of a very small walk that takes about 1 and half. Not bad considering i've only done this walk the last 2 weeks and only started 10 weeks ago. Helps that the walk is just given to random people and i was lucky enough to get it the week before christmas!

about £25 for me. a few packs of chocies, a few beers and a big joint of meat and wine from the guy who I normally cover for during the year, so much appreciated from my fellow postie. i'm reserve postie mostly plus covering other duties, so I can relate to other reesrve posties who probably get little compared to those with their own walks.
