We (Angardees) had todays pre-booked shift cancelled, then re-instated yesterday. That's just how it goes.

Anyone on the waiting list this year 2013 been called yet.

My applications Status reads ADDED TO WAITING LIST for Christmas Casual at NATIONAL RETURNS CENTRE
Royal Mail 20 Donegall Quay Belfast BT1 1AA.

This is the first year I have been on waiting list.

The last 3 years I started on the 6 December 2010, 28 November 2011 both night shifts at Belfast delivery office and 10 December 2012 day shift at NATIONAL RETURNS CENTRE Belfast

I would usually be working by now.

All the best

It's doubtful. The waiting lists are quite big, and it's getting closer to the end of casual employment for Christmas now. If you do get work, it would be little work I expect.

I was first person to be seen at The Registration Event Wednesday 23 October 2013. I was told at Registration Event I would either get 2pm - 10pm or night shifts.

Last year all the Christmas Casual's including me who started from 10 December 2012 all got work until Friday 1 March 2013 at the National Return Centre Belfast.

Cheers

I'm on the waiting list this year but don't expect to be called in this late in December. An email was sent on Nov 28 asking people to say whether or not they were still interested in work, as there might be the possibility of vacancies last week. There were alot of people on the waiting list.

I am also on the waiting list, haven't heard anything since email on 12 November stating I had passed my security checks.

Don't think thats right tbh... when you sign on at the beginning of the shift you sign on for a certain amount of hours which means you are entitled to work those hours, obviously they can ask people to go but if they don't want to they will have to find them other stuff to do for the rest of the shift (as was the case with the other poster)...if theres not enough work thats down to the management for not adjusting the workforce to suit demand.

Our line manager has told us he'd like to keep us on and there is potentially three months work in our mail centre. Unfortunately we have to transfer to Angard if we want the work.
