Xmas Casual Absences

Hi, I've been working as an xmas casual for two weeks now and have missed two days work so far (one from having a minor operation last week and today because the train was cancelled due to bad weather). It states in the contract that if you miss 3 days then royal mail can cancel the contract outright. Is this a likely scenario if i miss another day? I live about 20 miles away from the distribution centre and as it's winter it's not unlikely that the train service may be disrupted. Thanks

I believe it's two days in a row, that's at least what happened to me, missed two due to illness was told not to return for the third due to a "waiting list"

yammington I'm not sure, did you notify your interviewers at your interview about your up and coming minor operation? As I think that may make a difference in your favour, but may go against you if you knew of it at your interview but didn't tell them? Have a look in your casual contract as there is something mentioning this under the heading 'Sickness Absence'.

A few people have taken a couple of days off in a row and they have come back without any trouble. I think it just depends on who you get as a manager.

Same story with me,seems as there is no work at Preston for Angard staff this Christmas again.Cant get through Angard to confirm this either
