I'm happy with it given the current climate - if the moaners aren't then they can feel free to quit if it's so bad But wait - they need the job, so rather than moan about a position thousands would currently kill for just shut your stuck up mouths and be grateful for once in your life. Either that or give your job to someone who wants it

utter madness. Why do people think that complaining about whats wrong with your job means that you don't enjoy it. To my mind I'd rather have happy moaners working for me rather than a load of drones who make no effort to improve things, and believe that we should be grateful for a job so much so that they'll accept anything as long as they still have a job

I agree with this but there's moaning and moaning. If you are talking about people for whom there are things they don't like but on balance they are happy then I think that applies to most people - even managers! But you have to be honest, there's a proportion of posters who give the impression that everything is wrong with Royal Mail and their job, it's destroying their health, they hate it and they only exist on the belief that perhaps one day the job will go back to the "good old days" so lovingly described in the thread of that name. That's never going to happen and if it's SO bad now I don't understand why those people don't try harder to get out

so you work 60 hrs pw needy or greedy

If you had a 60 hour week then you would have at least 6 hours unpaid meal reliefs and the following week would be shorter but could be over 6 days as you only done 4 the previous

lets look at the facts.
Most in our office earn in excess of 25 grand a year. our top earner is over 35 grand.
I get 6 weeks holiday and have great working conditions as I do my job as specified by royal mail.
I am an unskilled worker earning good money doing a job that is essentially a nice walk each day chatting to customers as I go.
I work as efficiently as i can each day without any stress whatsoever.
This is all thanks to the CWU who have always tried to shape agreements that can be implemented at a local level.
We are the union. You! me, everybody in the workplace and it is your duty to make sure your working conditions are maintained.
I don't care what i do during my shift. If I was asked to deliver for the entire day that wouldn't be a problem. It's only a nice walk.
When my manager questions my overtime or if I have to cut off for whatever reason my answer is always the same. " I am more than happy for you to test me, I am working to the best of my ability"
Is the new agreement good? Of course it is. It's not about the money it's about protecting my working conditions and that is exactly what we have!
The extra money is a nice bonus. Thanks!
Name me one job that has better working conditions for unskilled labour and I will leave tomorrow.
You know it and I know it otherwise all the moaners would leave and go work for TNT or Home delivery or shop work or whatever!!
Yes we all like to have a moan, but lets put everything into perspective and look at the big picture.
If it really is that bad why do you stay? I love my job and I will do everything to preserve and enhance my working conditions using hard fought national and local agreements. Nothing is ever perfect. Human nature tells us we always want more. But what we do have ain't that bad.
Now I expect a lot of ranting similar to what dingo gets. That's ok.

i am glad you are happy since our revision 18 months ago i am floating despite being senior to 2 guys who have been given on walk i come in and quite often have 2 change because regulars work day off , i have told dom they shd be changing but he insists i have 2? now at christmas i am told guys are working days off so i have 2 go on van and deliver parcels he says it is suitability not seniority thats why i keep changing! i often have 2 change partners and walks which is pissing me off and rep says he can not do much about it! we are still waiting for repick and we are told we will have 2 wait because we are short staffed and has been for 18 months! as for 25-35 grand you are having a laugh ot has been cut back since changes and tbh i am fed up and like most people too shattered to work days off also we can hardly stroll around as dom says we are too slow if get back late so it is hardly a great job as you suggest i think you are lucky although a do agree the pay aint bad but gthe unfairness of rm is terrible

Hey no worries the union have listened to the problems and in the latest negotiations, on which you get a vote, they've decided to ignore them until next year when they will take another look, discuss the problems and ignore them again. So vote NO and they'll be talking about them a lot sooner, not that they won't ignore them again of course but it will highlight just how ineffectual they are and the delivery members aren't standing by for yet another balls up.
