no unfortunately should only be suspended if you were considered a threat to the mail or other members of staff

Gross miss conduct is a charge that warrants dismissal.U can read alot from the authority level the case is being dealt within. If it stays at lower level management then there intentions are not to dismiss because that manager does not have the authority. If its passed to the highest level manager in your unit then you could read into it that they may be looking to dismiss. Although it is petty and everyone on here would agree you shouldn't be sacked in todays climate you just dont know. As few years ago you wouldn't of been but the charge alone is something to be wary of considering the climate we work in today.

Have you had your formal interview? If you have it will state on your letter "your charge" ie Gross misconduct and further on will say that dismissal could be an outcome of this interview. It also depends as somebody else has said who is doing the interview. If it's lower level management they won't have the authority to sack you, they have to be a certain grade. Good luck

Yeah I had my interview with senior manager and the letter says all that. And yes he had authority to sack me. I asked him if dismissal is the only outcome and he denied but I will have to see what his decision will be. .
