Working on loading dock.
I currently am working as a casual at Royal Mail I was chosen to be on the loading dock (unloading and loading lorries) I think that all the other staff look down their noses at you because your a casual. They treat you with no respect and really do take the Mickey for instance the normal worker who's there permantly disappears for hours leaving me and another casual with all the work load . The manager doesn't care at all. The mail sorters are on the same shift pattern but get sent home early all the time and still get paid the full wage. It's disgusting how you get treated. The drivers also take the Mickey instead of helping they take the yorks of the the lorries and just leave them anywhere on the dock. When we was working Saturday it was only me and the other casual working on the dock we had no manger or no other workers to help. No one to supervise or to tell us what I do. I just think it's really bad how Royal Mail are so in professional. And the way they chuck around the parcels is unreal.

I also do portering in a RM loading bay. The full time staff, managers and drivers in the loading bay are great, really nice people. I get plenty of thanks and respect from all of them.
Yeah it sucks being paid 2 quid less an hour than the RM casuals, and it sucks not knowing when you will get your next shift. None of this is the fault of the staff in the loading bay.

I do not think RM have casuals except the Christmas casuals. Year round casuals are employed by Angard.
