I'm very fortunate that I work in one of the very few (it seems) offices that have fair management in place. Yes I do a 3-4hr delivery but still manage to finish before my time without coming in early. At the same time I have nothing against people coming in early. More fool them for not claiming the overtime. Those that do have a problem in my eyes should step up and do something about it instead of moaning about their rep.
I personally find the deal to be fair. How any other companies can you name where you are 100% safe in your job?
We are being offered a payrise over the next 3 years and getting a lump sum as well as securing our terms for upto 5 years.
I can understand the cynical nature after 2010 but what benefit is it to Royal Mail or the CWU to fail as a company?
After working for myself for a few years I know it's tough out there and knowing I have these assurances is all I need personally to put in a yes vote.
Its a yes from me,5 years terms & conditions is the clincher for me.
Anyone who thinks Royal Mail are going to improve on that are surely deluded.

From my point of view 5 years will do nicely it will take me to 62. But if its a no vote ill be on the picket line.

why can,t we strike all it needs is the do or mc walks out unofficially of course.
I will vote yes. The agreement is very good imo. Lets not beat about the bush Royal mail could have given us 6 months notice on our t+cs. That would have caused a mass walkout.So now we have 5 years grace, and lets be honest the only thing that would cause a national strike now would be for royal mail to disrupt our t+cs) if that happens they know we will walk anyway so the agreement seems ok. both sides at an impass. Its not about the money for me, but i think you have to be realistic. We are not in the 80s or 90s, unions do not hold the whip hand anymore, especially in the postal sector.The job on delivery is not easy, but the plan now needs to be strong locally. Weather the union can manage that is up for debate.

Agree totally with this, I earn the same money now as a Relay driver as my newly qualified Wife as Staff Nurse which took 5 years and degree!, to many members on here with a pure negative attitude, be grateful youve a job, do it well and you'll be left alone, be lazy and stir s**t, and you'll be singled out.
