Well they can get out of it by saying they need the 30 mins so you can't start/finish early when you wanted - but if they keep saying that then tell them no in return when they ask you to flex up.mandelsons_toenail wrote:Not in my doms eye it doesn'tOnAFlyer wrote:No, the 30 mins flex is still in place and it works both ways.Jynxx wrote:Whats a "can do culture" in RM terms? I can work past my hours and be late for my kids? I can agree that the duty your revising is possible to do in 4 hours and not the 6 hours it will take?
It would be nice if they could explain exactly what a "can-do culture" is....they "can-do it" ....can't they?

Re: Royal Mail's take on the new agreement...
I sense a no vote here.
Take the pre Christmas money, vote no to this lousy deal.
The pay rise seems ok ish. But the rest is open for abuse, misinterpretation and could be manipulated to create a situation where the legally binding bit is broken legally.

Either party can give 30 days notice to remove any or all of the legally binding agreement....just like the Pensions all over again , they send out their proposal ask for your views than do what they like anyway!

5.3 Special Mediationgashead-postie wrote:basically it means there will be no backing at national level for brave offices like crewe who chose to walk...sort it out yourself locally![]()
Where despite the best endeavours of both Royal Mail and CWU, unballoted industrial action occurs, the Divisional Representative (or equivalent) and the Head of Industrial Relations will be immediately informed. They will work with the local representatives of both parties to identify the cause of the industrial action, resolve differences, return to work and if necessary engage in due process. Unless there is an expectation of a quick return to work they will arrange for Special Mediators to be appointed.
The purpose of Special Mediation is to ensure an immediate return to work while issues and grievances are investigated.

Re: Royal Mail's take on the new agreement...
I thought we paid our union dues for the CWU to help employee's not to help RM create new "growth" strategies to "drive" across the company.....i'm a little curious if any of the CWU 3 have shares in RM2. Participation
- Both parties will work together to respond to competitive challenges and develop new approaches to improve efficiency
- Royal Mail and CWU will work together to develop and implement business strategies.
- A newly created "Growth Forum". Three senior executives from both parties, including the CEO and the CWU's Deputy General Secretary, to drive change across the company.
.... Driving....since Moya has a company car has she had to take the driver awareness course like the rest of us? (I know off topic just curious)

From what I hear she has a jet paid for on expense account leaving on a jet plane to California or should that be Canada!Jynxx wrote:I thought we paid our union dues for the CWU to help employee's not to help RM create new "growth" strategies to "drive" across the company.....i'm a little curious if any of the CWU 3 have shares in RM2. Re: Royal Mail's take on the new agreement...
I will be voting yes to this agreement . I dont think our union could negotiate a better deal than the one that is on offer . I know we seem to have heard it all before just words on paper and RM not following previous agreements . But what else could we seriously achieve , from what I have read they have addressed the pay B&H IR workload etc . I am not sure what sort of agreement that our members expected to see and be happy with . I work in Delivery and I am fully aware of the problems that we face in that area . I cannot comment on mail centre distribution etc , But I live in hope that our situation can only improve with a fresh approach from both sides !

I can confirm that the "CWU 3" do have shares in RM.Jynxx wrote:i'm a little curious if any of the CWU 3 have shares in RM, shouldn't they now be on the RM pay role and not the CWU's?
But then, so do you. So do I. So does k979aaa, fishtank, dvbuk etc etc.
What you mean is, did any of our negotiators buy extra shares, and did that have a bearing on their agreeing to extension after extension, and holding back the troops?
