Are sure you can handle it not just slowing down but confronting the management you need big balls maybe that's what slows me down!Pat Ostman wrote:Just curious here. Say a postie cuts off every day because they feel that they can't complete yet they are painfully slow on delivery and take twice as long as anyone else. I get that you don't understand that halfull, that's fine it's no big deal.
If that's the case I think I'll slow down to a complete crawl and take the piss from now on. If you read my initial post you'll see I used the words performance issues. You got all skirty about tests. (plural)
Again semantics, can we now move on? It was an interesting thread before.

Re: Overrunning Deliveries Procedure and Park&Loop
Both my p+l partner and myself have no wish to work over our time.
We regularly cut off and rarely take our lapsing.
Either of us is happy to tell our manager we won't be completing .
Once we have made the decision we stick to it no matter what they throw at us.
As a result of this we feel we are "marked men".
We have had managers spying on us (hiding in cars) as we are doing our last loops. When questioned they say "just doing security checks"
Checking what time our PDAs are logged off.
We get our bags searched regularly (at least 6 times this year)
Lots of other little things plus the snide comments which all are designed to try and intimidate you into completing no matter what.
We know the first chance they get we are going to be conduct coded no matter how minor the offence.
We have repeatedly asked for our duty to be tested but as they know it's too big we get a different excuse each time.
Sadly I know this is how it is in many offices up and down the country and we are not on our own.
To me this is far more important than the financial side of the current deal.

Agreed, great post.
RM is rotten from the top down, no amount of a pay rise, pension deal etc will make me enjoy my job the way I used to until this intimidation, bullying, harassing is stopped. I dread going into work every morning knowing there's going to be an argument because I want to finish on time.

Re: Overrunning Deliveries Procedure and Park&Loop
2yrs back I was put on Non Culprable ineffincency, for 3 months being tested a couple of times a week , until I refused and got area involved and had the dom up for B/H which was whitwashedI know of nobody being conducted for failing any of the performance/standard tests you are referring to.
all because I cut off a few times ,
I am on a driving duty but again the duty is too big and last week I cut off 5 out of six days, and had arguments most days
I expect it will be no different when we start xmas hours , I have a feeling it will be meltdown come Monday afternoon in my office

We cut off when it's busy, and at the moment are cutting off almost every day. Our manager never questions it because he knows we're not slow and he's actually a decent human being, which seems rare within RM.
2 cages of packets are still sat by our frames, we haven't delivered any for 2 days other than specials and tracked as we haven't had the time. When we get off IPS ours are amongst the 5 or 6 walks that haven't been touched, which means when it's busy like this we're virtually last out all the time. Yesterday my first letter went in the frame at 08.20. This morning there were people turning for packets whilst we were still on IPS, it's a p*ss take and we're not mug enough to complete when stuff like that is happening.
