Hi no such thing as 'performance test' if your dim wants to insist, ask for him to point it out to you in the BT2010 ........ its not there :Very Happy

as for the only test going ....its the empty letter frame test ...... you are given a pile of letters and an empty frame with your dim standing there with his stopwatch and

GO

but there is no accuracy element to the test :dance ...... so they can go where they like :nana

Great job this .......

They can do lots of performance tests if they say they are testing the duty or checking the accuracy of the figures but we all know they are playing the man,not the ball.
testing to what agreed standard? the only AGREED test is a one minute prep test on an empty frame & they cannot check for accuracy. Im sure if they could "performance test" us on speed of bagging up, doing ips, portering mail, emptying dropbags, delivering mail, delivering parcels, filling out 739's, loading vans or even taking a dump im sure they would not let ANYBODY cutoff anywhere! They know all the other crap besides a one min prep test is a waste of time & cannot stop us cutting off! :cuppa

yes so you post should of said: they can do lots of watching & quoting useless information about iwt office standards but its all hot-air rubbish. People come on here for information and to see you putting up things like: "They can do lots of performance tests" would be taken as gospel by many & they would think there are many tests the could fail! Maybe you misunderstood what me & Pat Ostman were debating over. :Very Happy

It was not my post that you deliberately misconstrued for reasons only you know.

I and my partner cut off today, but as usual I have to tell the bosses and argue the toss.
apparently today was an easy day :Very Happy

I offered to swap with the manager but they refused.

I couldn't drink that much coffee anyway and he couldn't hack two deliveries :whistle

Overrunning deliveries procedure.
All instances of overrunning delivery routes must be investigated and resolved by addressing the root cause of the problems being experienced.

JOINT STATEMENT FAIRNESS, DIGNITY & RESPECT IN DELIVERY
Where failure to complete is a regular occurrence on a delivery, a joint examination will be undertaken to understand why this is and how the issue will be jointly addressed.
It's not whether they can apply performance standards individually IF they follow nationally agreed guidelines,It's about what bullying tools they have available to put the majority of members off working to their time.

This isn't about me or you or Pat.It's about Newbie McTemporary-Contract and the pressures and intimidation they face or even relatively senior guys in an office with weak representation.
They can and will test the duty(you) to exhaustion. :cuppa
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

so they can try to "understand why" yes but not performance test us. Performance tests is a very strong statement to make when there is only one agreed. They can bully & talk s**t yes but this is not a test. :cuppa

But it's more of a test than the Individual Performance Standard.
It's a test of resolve,a test of nerve,a test of office unity.
There is absolutely no point in pointing to the fact that we only have one agreed test if we allow RM to use a shitload of unagreed tests to achieve exactly what they want.

As Pat pointed out the Overrunning Deliveries Procedure is no longer fit for purpose because a) It fails to reflect the fact that there are now two members involved in the dynamic who may have different views on the situation and b) RM now have a vast array of tools including the IWT and a new one called Automous? which can tell you exactly how many sequenced items each walk gets which are being used to bully members.

like i said they can b&h & quote iwt standards which i repeat are not individual performance tests but they have only one official test which most of us know what that is. I know of nobody being conducted for failing any of the performance/standard tests you are referring to. :cuppa

Performance testing/management isn't about the conduct code or even improving standards,It's about teaching the OPG a lesson, about laying down a marker and more importantly it's about showing all those around the OPG exactly what happens when you cut off, that's why there is always a big show made of it.It's something you learn early on as a rep.
I get that you don't understand that halfull, that's fine it's no big deal.

Just curious here. Say a postie cuts off every day because they feel that they can't complete yet they are painfully slow on delivery and take twice as long as anyone else. Are you suggesting that nothing whatsoever can be done?

If that's the case I think I'll slow down to a complete crawl and take the piss from now on. If you read my initial post you'll see I used the words performance issues. You got all skirty about tests. (plural)

Again semantics, can we now move on? It was an interesting thread before.

Nothing they can do besides harass, i asked my area rep the same question and he said all they can do is coach & re-train. This is interesting, many will read & be happy their manager can only do one performance test. :cuppa
