Why can you cash your shares in tomorrow and our pension is crap our working conditions are even worse than the coal faces of the 1950's and our management is of an era not seen since 1945!stephen500 wrote:Not only are we nearer to some back pay and a pay rise and it's associated terms and conditions. But best of all "Royal Mail shares were up 1.4% to 588p in late morning trading – close to their record high of 590.5p." I can't begin to tell you, as a share holder, the relief this news brings over the Christmas period. I shall be able to get that turkey for "Tiny Tim" and the family. Thank you one and all.

^^ Lol - what your forgetting is the shi.t will come down from above - now heavier than before, don't kid yourself.Judgee wrote:Stumpy wrote:Too right they could and in times past most definitely would but now Royal Mail is a company listed on the stock market and just as shares have seen a rise in the last couple of days they could and in my opinion will crash big style if there was a double cross and the inevitable industrial action.noggin1969 wrote:So technically both the PEC and membership could ratify the agreement , there is no action this side of Xmas and then the RM board could veto the agreement![]()

Yup as much as I am/was totally against privatisiation it has done us a favour in a way. Now the RM execs are answerable to the shareholders and they don't put up with a lot of crap. I guess Moya shot herself in the hoof a bit there didn't she!
Shareholders won't give a flying hoot as long as your work double hard to pay dividends and keep the share price up.
RM will double their efforts to make sure the squeezes happen and they wring absolute every last minute out of you.

If we had no union, what would our conditions be like, these talks will get us something, which is better then nothing.we should surport the union instead of moaning about them.

What a dumber post! Moya was all for it. There is also nothing at the moment that indicates that sick or holiday pay will go it's purely speculation from dumbasses like you!mark02 wrote:What a stupid post!! Moya was brought in to make ready the company for privatisation, not really a hard job, since she had the backing of Cameron, and the regulators, up the stamp price, and hey presto, profit.

Holdiay pay is law in the uk and cannot be taken away by anyone. The majority of people who work 5 days a week either full or part time are entitled to 28days holiday per year. Yes they can take it down from the 6 we get jut now, but can't take it away. By law we get 4 weeks plus public holidays.

Re: New Agreement is an agreement between negotiating teams
Ask yourself one simple question if you will. WHY is the industrial action mandate still live, divisional reps etc too take fifteen minutes action to facilitate this? The union had a trump card up there sleeve! Action during pressure, to let the employer know we want and are serious about a fair deal this time. But they choose to elongate all of this, drag it into the new year, only to have the EC chuck it out and see us go out in January! Royal mail and the union have been at this for a year now! Trust me this deal will be like all the others! The union is out for itself, to secure tenure for itself post privatisation. None of us have the stomach for all this any more, the union wont allow itself to be sidelined,. The job will continue to get even worse, now we are slaves to the MAJORITY share holders. What ever this magical deal turns out to be, we will not be the ones to benefit long term. Royal mail will slaughter us over the years for daring to ask"More please sir!"
Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas!

Re: New Agreement is an agreement between negotiating teams
Why would the upper hierarchy of RM reject the deal ,they will just drive a coach and horses through it any way. They will implement things that benefit them, and just ignore any safe guards or worker benefits.

No chance whatsoever !!!!!! In fact they want to go public with it to their shareholders.PostmanBillglos wrote:So is there a chance the upper hierarchy of Royal Mail reject the agrement last minute but we won't be able to strike till after christmas?

Re: New Agreement is an agreement between negotiating teams
Must be a good deal?, share price is driven by two factors, greed and fear. Is the deal to stop fear or for greed. What I find interesting is now "we" are a PLC can we now use it to our advantage and how can we.dingo wrote:No chance whatsoever !!!!!! Do you not wonder why the membership is not filled with confidence over this proposed agreement?dingo wrote:No chance whatsoever !!!!!! If Royal Mail are so eager to present this to their shareholders it can only mean that they have read it far faster, (or received it much earlier), than the PEC and believe it to be biased in their favour.
