re Acca Dacca's 'Picture This' scenario - the 'To Me, To You' good neighbourly bit..
This Always, but Always, used to go Tits-Up with the Customer (or Customers other-half) coming into the Enquiry Office with one, or both!, P739s!!
and then going away empty-handed because the Item had already been taken in..! FFS! You Couldn't Make It Up!!
.. and then I'd get called into the Office and basically told not to try so hard. ..
.. So now I Don't.

We had a sign put up for less than a day in our office asking us to check sheds and outhouses before 739-ing items, and to me, technically, that is door stepping.DirtyHarry wrote:Management sound as though they are just a hop, skip, and a jump away from encouraging us to doorstep packets/parcels.
I'll be honest, I previously would check garages, but that all stopped after I set off an alarm one time after some new people had moved into the house
The sign wasn't up long so I'm guessing they realised it was bad advice.

We've had so much mail on that we've been chucking every single large, small and tracked packet out. In fact today there's been 20+ cages of packets, 5 cages of tracked and 7 walks not gone out. Complete and utter failure. Great service Royal Mail!

Today we just delivered anything that would go through a letter box, signed for and specials, whizzed round just like the good old days. If we had attempted to deliver everything, today would have been the first day in 3 years of P&L that we wouldn't have been able to get it all in the van. Massive backlog of undelivered packets/parcels at finishing time. If they don't get on top of it in the next few days, we'll be facing meltdown.

Should do, would be the sensible thing to do, but under this current shower in the boardroom, we will have more chance of actually seeing this mythological reduction in mail that they keep lying about.k979aaa wrote: Well I could not agree more but will it ever change back too how it was?
